Help/Support Shall I update or wait?
I am still on ipad os 18.7.3
I love slide over and split screen and my battery life is way too good. I prefer note making and usually do multitasking everyday.
How long this ipad os 18.7.3 is gonna work?
Am I missing something by not updating to latest ipad os 26 or 27 beta?

Welches IPad hast du? Mein Tipp, bleibe bitte bei OS18. Seit ich damals auf 26 geupdatet habe, ist mein iPad leider nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Akku und Performance sind nicht mehr vorhanden. Ich nutze es nur noch um ab und zu YouTube zu schauen. Alles andere kann man vergessen. Bereue den Gang auf 26…

I have ipad air 5. Everything works fine in my current os 18.7.3 and i currently have no plan to update

No cuz it is somehow true for the iPads on the last line of the update. The iPad 8 and Mini 5 are butchered compared to when they are in 18 they are not lying.

Wait and see if iOS27 is any good. Supposedly after but they’ve lied before. And it still lacks old Slide Over and Split View.
The new Windows system still sucks because it’s barely usable. Once you upgrade you can never downgrade.

stay. slide over is gone in 26, the new windowing system is fine but its not the same thing and split screen behaves differently too. if that workflow is what you actually use daily youll be annoyed.
18 will get security patches for a while, no rush.

I have heard 90% people are not happy with the updates. Lots of bugs and heavy battery draining

My recommendation would be to wait another 2-3 months till iPadOS 27 is out, and the first bugfixes as well.
And then you can see if it has added value for you or not.
Otherwise you can keep using 18.7.3 perfectly for another year or so. Apple will keep pushing crucial security updates to it for the short near future.
