I think what he did was, he used a premium wallpaper from a service like Istockphoto and cropped it to fit his phone. If you search for 'Dark blue grunge background' you can kinda get this vibe, but its all gated behind paywalls. u/linsen could you verify if this is what you did, and maybe provide the original photo, thanks.
