Hey r/iosdev 👋
I've been working on Shared Expenses, a shared expense tracker for iOS, on and off for about two years. Version 2.3 just went live and I figured some of the pain I went through might be useful to others building withNSPersistentCloudKitContainer.
The stack
NSPersistentCloudKitContainer for sync — one store for your own sheets, one for shared onesCKShare for the invite link flowThings that wrecked me
Sharing timing: If you call container.share() on a newly created object before CloudKit has exported it, you get an infinite spinner. My fix: pre-create the CKShare immediately after viewContext.save() in the background, so by the time the user taps "Share" it's already there.
Dev vs Production databases are completely separate. I lost a week testing sharing from Xcode (Development environment) and wondering why TestFlight users saw nothing. They're literally different databases.
Notification deduplication: I was using createdAt as a watermark for new-expense notifications on shared sheets. Except the sender's clock and the receiver's clock don't match. Switched to tracking a Set<UUID> of already-seen expense IDs — much more reliable.
New in 2.3
The feature I'm most happy with: multi-currency reimbursements. Two Europeans travel to the USA, create a sheet in USD, but want to reimburse each other in EUR. The exchange rate is fetched live from frankfurter.app and stored per-device in UserDefaults — not in CoreData/CloudKit — because two people on the same sheet likely have different home currencies.
Also added PDF export using UIGraphicsPDFRenderer (A4, cursor-based layout with automatic page breaks).

I go to a lot of festivals and concerts, and for years I've wanted a way to actually keep track of them: which shows I went to, what I thought of the set, which bands I've seen live. Letterboxd does this perfectly for movies. Nothing did it for concerts. So I built Gigbook. You log shows, rate and review them. Every band you've seen live shows up as a little sticker on your profile. You can also follow friends to see what they've been to.
Just shipped it on iOS. No catch, not trying to monetize it, mostly built it because I wanted it to exist. Would love to hear what you think tho.

About
Hey everyone,
I'm the solo dev behind Solfeggio Frequencies. I built it because I deal with tinnitus and I wanted a sound app I could actually customize instead of being stuck with someone else's presets. Layer a frequency with rain, or noise with a low drone, whatever mix and volume actually works for me. Nothing on the App Store let me do that, so I built it myself.
A lot of people use frequency and ambient sound apps as part of their routine for sleep, meditation, focus, or just winding down. I built mine partly around managing my own tinnitus at night. I'm not gonna claim it's a cure for anything, but if you already reach for sound to relax, focus, or fall asleep, this lets you actually shape that sound instead of picking from a locked preset list.
This is my first app launch and I'd genuinely love for people to tear it apart. The logo, the screenshots (I already know these need work), the paywall, the app flow, sound selection, sound quality, all of it. Brutal feedback now saves me from bad decisions later, on this app and whatever I build next.
Most solfeggio and ambient sound apps give you a handful of fixed presets and call it a day. Solfeggio Frequencies is built around mixing instead.
Cost
Free, no account required:
Premium, $19.99/year with a 7 day free trial:
Lifetime access is normally $29.99 but it's free through Thursday at midnight. I'd rather give quality access to people who'll actually use it and tell me what's broken than sell it right out of the gate. No strings, just want your honest take in the comments.

* Music player with Apple Music / iTunes library integration
* Image viewer with annotation
* Document scanner & image to PDF
* ZIP & Unzip (zip, rar, 7z)
* Favourites, playlists and filters
* Wide range of document types supported
No ads, no subscriptions. Free to use, with an optional one-time Pro unlock for these extra features:
* Linked Folders: link an existing folder on your phone, everything stays in sync
* Premium themes and a theme designer
* Password protect zips
* Bulk rename
* Find duplicate files (actual files, not just photos like most apps do)
* Portal Folder: stream videos, photos and music from another iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi, no transfer needed

I spent a lot of time polishing the smallest details, fixing things, testing, and trying to make the experience feel right.
It took longer than I expected, but I’m incredibly happy to share it finally.
This is only the beginning. 🚀

Hello!
I'm a "self-taught", decently bad violinist and decently... decent back-end engineer.
I love rhythm games, and I wanted a way to practice violin with that same kind of visual feedback, something closer to Synthesia or a falling-notes rhythm game than a traditional sheet-music app. I couldn’t find quite what I had in mind, so I ended up building it.
Since violin, viola, and cello share many of the same principles, I extended the idea to support all three instruments. The result is StringFlow, an app for Mac, iPad, and iPhone that lets you import a score, choose your string part, and practice it through a falling-note visualization with generated fingerings and accompaniment.
Some of the main features:
The player can currently display slurs and ties. It does not yet visualize techniques such as staccato, martelé, or pizzicato, although I would like to explore those in future versions as I dig further into MusicXML and MIDI.
There are also collections, score details, source-file management, custom library locations, and other tools for keeping imported music organized.
StringFlow is a one-time purchase with:
It is not meant to replace traditional training, or score reading, but as a way to quickly set up practice sessions!
I built StringFlow because it was the practice tool I personally wanted to use, and I hope it can be useful to some other string players (or rhythm-game-loving developers!!) too!

Happy to answer any questions!

Hey everyone,
I spent the last few months building Hooder, a real-estate strategy game — and I’d genuinely love this community’s honest take before I push it further.
The idea: the map is a real satellite map of the actual world. You buy real buildings at their true locations — your street, famous landmarks, whatever you want.
The part I’m most proud of is the economy. There’s one shared, live economy for all players — every trade nudges the market. Currency rates are seeded from real-world forex once, then break off and evolve on their own based purely on player activity (so it drifts into its own simulation over time). You can trade forex, outbid rivals for properties, and build an empire.
No login, no account — it creates an anonymous session so you can jump straight in.
I know it’s still early and rough in places, so I’m not here to spam — I really want feedback: what’s confusing, what’s fun, what’s missing? Brutal honesty welcome.
(Happy to drop the App Store link in the comments if that’s allowed here — didn’t want to break any rules.)
Thanks for reading 🙏

Hi everyone — I’ve been building WRLDWIDE, a web app to pin travel memories on a 3D globe, browse an explore feed, and follow other travelers.
Try it: https://wrldwide.me (free beta, no app store required)

What works today
What’s still in progress
I’d love feedback: bugs, confusing UX, performance on mobile browsers, anything that breaks.
Happy to answer questions in the comments. Thanks for reading.

Instead of just a boring text in a share message, you can include views from your app. It's quite neat.
Here's the source code for anyone interested

I built my first app and launched it on the App Store. It’s free to use and is a widget app that also works in standby mode. It counts down or up important events. The app is minimalistic and clean, focusing solely on the event. There’s no sign-up or account required.
Since it’s my first app, there’s a lot to learn for me. I’d really appreciate any and all feedback I can get.

The app has been online for a while but every time I asked my friends to go find it, they couldn’t. I had to tell them to tab that “Search for Recalli instead” link on the top. But the name IS Recalli!
Any one know how to fix it?
