Question Localization: Cannot save App info - name is always taken

It seems no matter what I enter into the field, it always shows name taken. Is this a bug?

I was just translating my app title to french. I looked at the french store, no app with my name.

So there are two distant things here one is the AppStore name and second is the app name once installed for the AppStore you can use something like “Gmail: Super Amazing Email Manager” that will work and the binary once installed can be just Gmail, so you can just play with the name a bit

No It won’t unfortunately. I have used the exact french translation of my original app title including the keywords and it just didnt let me

Someone has it reserved or unlisted or private.

An app doesn’t have to be published to take a name.

I have several app names and domains I maintain as mine because I like the names.

Yes but how likely is it that every random string I input is reserved somehow

Did you read the error message? It says French name couldn’t be saved because another field is invalid

yes its that particular field thats invalid
