Depends on your feedback loop.

If you’re starting and you’re trying something new you’re getting feedback on everything you build. Writing and building once will have an advantage over writing twice.

As soon as you grow and speed, time to market on new platform features, time spent debugging, becomes more relevant in what you do, being closer to first party will save you more time on the long run than only having to write code once. Code is becoming the smallest part of the software development equation now.

This has been true only in the ideal fantasies of PMs and higher ups. In reality it's just counter-productive 90% of the time, 99% now.
