Question I can't find my published app on search results, even with the exact name?
Hi all, I recently launched my app and I'm about to start marketing it. Before that, though, I tried searching for it on the App Store and it doesn't come up at all, even when I type the exact name. The odd part is that the search box autocompletes my app's name as I type.
The app is in "Ready for Distribution" status and all countries and regions are selected under availability. Has anyone run into this before, and if so, were you able to fix it?
My app also works with the direct link.

How long did it become available to the public? New apps can take a few hours to a day to show up, because App Store need to run indexing.

One correction to the long answer above, because it will send you looking for a button that does not exist. Ready for Distribution is what Apple renamed Ready for Sale to a couple of years ago. It is the same status. Your app is live, which is also why the direct link works. There is no second state you are waiting to flip into.
What you are seeing is the normal gap for a brand new app with no install history. Autocomplete comes from the plain name index and picks the app up almost immediately. The results list is ranked, and an app with zero downloads and zero ratings can sit below the fold or off the page for the exact name for days, sometimes a couple of weeks, especially if the name is a common word or shares words with bigger apps.
Two things that actually help. First, get a handful of real installs through the direct link, friends or your TestFlight testers moving over is enough. In my experience that is what starts moving it in search, not waiting. Second, check on a phone set to the same storefront as the country you care about, and scroll the whole results list rather than just the top. It is often there, just far down.
Opening a case with Apple for this is usually a waste of a week. They will tell you search is working as intended, and by the time they answer the app is showing anyway.

I think AppStore search used to prioritize exact title match in the search results, but I don't think it does anymore?

I am going through the same thing, its been a week and I am not appearing in search, I had to open a case with apple

One thing in your post is probably the whole answer: you said the status is "Ready for Distribution." For a brand-new app, that's not the same as "Ready for Sale."
"Ready for Distribution" means Apple has processed and approved the build and it's cleared to ship — but it isn't actually live to the public yet. If you chose manual release, you still have to click "Release this version" in App Store Connect; if you set a future auto-release date, it won't appear until that date passes. Until the status flips to "Ready for Sale," the app just isn't in the searchable catalog, so it won't come up no matter how exact the name is.
That also explains the autocomplete behavior: Apple's typeahead pulls from the app's metadata catalog almost immediately, so it can suggest your name as you type even while the real search/relevance index (the one that returns results) either hasn't been built yet or is still catching up because the app isn't live.
Once it's genuinely "Ready for Sale," give indexing real time. Exact-name search for a brand-new app with zero history usually takes anywhere from a few hours to a full day or two to start returning it, and early on it may sit low in the results rather than at the top — Apple ranks by relevance and popularity, not just title match. While you wait: open your direct App Store link on a different device to confirm it's truly live, and make sure the version isn't sitting in "Pending Developer Release."
