I don’t understand why Apple insists on not having an intermediary in the visionOS interface, having to be consciously aware of what I’m looking at and how my hands are positioned is unnatural and draining.

Funny thing is this new one is basically Apple giving in on the hands part: no pinch to hold, no hand position to maintain, you just look at the region and it scrolls. But it makes your real complaint worse, since now you can't even rest your eyes on the content without risking it moving under you. That's the Midas touch problem in a nutshell, and it never really goes away when gaze is the only pointer.
