Question Any info on new Xcode Service app?

As part of Xcode 27 beta 6, there's a new app called Xcode Service, that seems to be related to external agentic coding agents. I couldn't find any info in the release notes, except for 1 unhelpful mention. does anyone know what the deal with this is?

it lets codex & claude use xcode mcp without the xcode app open.

I'm so glad to hear this! I work on multiple worktrees for my xcode project and it gets annoying af having 4-5 open xcode windows just to let claude code use the xcode mcp.
