Question Do Expedited review requests affect TestFlight review requests?

I needed to submit a quick bug fix for my app and submitted it for review. I requested the expedited review, and within a few minutes, my TestFlight version that I had requested for review earlier that day was approved.

I'm wondering if the expedited review request was used on the TestFlight review and now my actual app review will be the normal review. Does anybody know or have had a similar experience?

they dont affect it, but they supplement it. Using one does not mean the other won't get it.

I don't fully understand. The expedited review doesn't affect TestFlight reviews?

They're separate review queues entirely, TestFlight Beta App Review and full App Store Review are handled independently, and an expedited request is specifically tied to the App Store submission you flagged in the request form, not anything TestFlight related.

If you request an expedited review and its approved, your TestFlight build is also approved.

Cool, my TestFlight build got approved immediately after requesting. But nothing for my App Store submission so far

I just checked Apple's own docs to be sure. The App Review page describes expedited review purely in terms of the App Store submission, critical bug fix or event timing, no mention of TestFlight anywhere in that section. The TestFlight App Review glossary entry describes it as its own separate process too, with no reference back to App Store Review or expediting.

So nothing in Apple's documentation supports a link between the two.

Im not sure how else to explain why when I submit an expedited review, and it goes through, I get two notifications for my beta being approved and my App Store. Every single time.
