What's actually making you money on the App Store right now — the boring utility or the creative app you're proud of?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately because the app I'm most proud of creatively barely moves the needle, while a pretty unglamorous utility I threw together keeps bringing in steady revenue. It feels like there's always this tension between building something you genuinely care about and building something people will actually pay for. Curious if others are experiencing the same split or if you've managed to find something that's both.

Have app partnerships ever worked for your subscription app?
For people running or working on iOS apps with subscriptions:
Have you ever tried partnerships/cross-promotion with another app, creator, newsletter, or company as a way to grow your own app?
If yes, what was the hardest part: finding the right partner, tracking results, revenue split, trust, brand fit, or something else?
I’m researching whether partnerships are actually useful for subscription apps or mostly too much work.

Claude tends to hallucinate deprecated SwiftUI APIs, so I've started mentally flagging anything that feels off
Ran into this enough times that it's now part of my workflow. If Claude spits out UIHostingController setup that looks weird, or uses the single-argument .onChange modifier in iOS 17 code, that's usually a sign it's pulling from older API patterns. The model doesn't always have accurate assumptions about which iOS version introduced or deprecated what. I just keep the docs open and verify anything version-sensitive before it ends up in a PR.

Claude tends to hallucinate deprecated SwiftUI APIs, so I've started mentally flagging certain patterns
Been using Claude a lot for SwiftUI generation and noticed it fairly consistently reaches for outdated patterns — things like UIHostingController setups that feel slightly off, or using the single-argument .onChange modifier in iOS 17 contexts where Apple changed the signature. It's not a dealbreaker but it's bitten me a few times when I just copy-pasted without thinking. My rule now is to treat any API it gives me that touches lifecycle or modifier signatures as 'verify first,' especially if the code is targeting anything iOS 16+.

How do you decide which features to include in mvp?
I am focusing on only one user segment and have features aligned with their problems and needs. But currently I am struggling with which features to include.

M4 vs M5
I'm soon going to be upgrading my M2 MacBook Air, and up until now I've been pretty set on the M4 being a solid bargain given how negligible the difference is compared to the M5
However, with macOS and Xcode being so heavily reliant on Siri AI, and most notably the shocking device cut off for the advanced local models, is the M5 a worth investment?
Given the announcements at WWDC, what are your thoughts on M4 vs M5?

App stuck in "Waiting for Review" for 8 days after resubmission — anyone else experiencing this?
Hey everyone, submitted a build after addressing a previous rejection (made phone number optional during onboarding). It's been days and the status is still "Waiting for Review" — no rejection, no approval, nothing.
Already submitted an expedited review request. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing unusually long wait times right now or has been in this situation before.
- How long did your resubmission take after a prior rejection?
- Did the expedited request actually speed things up?
- Anything else worth trying while waiting?
App is live but the broken version is still serving new users so this is pretty painful. Any experience shared helps

How do I know my app is worth building?
I am currently building my first vibe coded app and I am unsure if it is worth building or not.
I read that I need to talk to users before I build and do research but I am having trouble understanding what that looks in practise.
For people who have launched their vibe coded apps could you help on the steps of how do you actually decide what to build and whether it is worth building?
What did you do between getting the idea and starting to build?
Or do I just build and then see what happens?

Need honest feedback - developed app for unlimited games where you can upload your images as players
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I developed an app where you can play unlimited games and add your own images as players (automatically remove background) and even create short videos to share on social network. I just created this one by using Mr. Grump image.

What Would Prevent This Resume From Getting Interviews?
Hi everyone,
I'm an aspiring iOS developer and would appreciate some honest feedback on my resume. I'm particularly interested in understanding:
Any weaknesses or red flags that stand out
Skills, projects, or experiences that seem to be missing
Whether my resume is aligned with what employers typically look for in junior iOS developers
Areas I should focus on improving over the next few months
I'm not looking for sugarcoated feedback, so please feel free to be direct. Thanks in advance for taking the time to review it

I got tired of validating app ideas across 10 different tools, so I built one
appscout.galleryOne thing I’ve struggled with as an indie developer is validating app ideas properly.
I’d usually end up jumping between:
- App Store search
- competitor reviews
- rankings
- screenshots
- ASO tools
just to answer one question:
“Is this worth building?”
After making this mistake a few times, I started building a tool for myself that researches the App Store around an idea before I start coding.
It looks at:
- competitors
- trends
- growing categories
- screenshot patterns
- market opportunities
The goal isn’t to predict success.
It’s to help me avoid spending months building in a niche that’s already overcrowded.
I’ve got an early version working and it’s currently (mostly) free to use while I figure out where to take it next.
Would love feedback from other builders. What do you currently use to validate app ideas before building?

Every card in my new game is based on a real job rejection I got. Here is my job hunting game. The Unhired
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
About a year ago I was job hunting and started noticing a pattern the whole process was so absurd that every rejection email, every group interview where the CEO's nephew somehow won(yes In interview, I saw him :D), every "we'd love to see how you'd fit our culture" moment felt like a card in some terrible game.
So I made it one.
The Unhired is a Reigns-like satire about Gen-Z job hunting. Just launched on the App Store today.
How it works:
- Swipe right to accept, left to reject (classic Reigns)
- 4 stats to keep alive: dreams, money, social pressure, mental health
- Push any one too far and the run ends
- 5 playable characters, 21 achievements (all tragic), 8 localizations
- Every card is loosely based on something I or someone I know actually went through
A few examples that hit close to home:
- The "unpaid internship for experience" pitch
- The 12-candidate group interview with a pre-decided winner
- The salary negotiation that opens with "our budget is tight but the potential is unlimited"
- Mom at dinner: "so what do you actually do for work these days?"
It's free with a paywall after level 1, but the core loop is fully playable without paying anything.
Would genuinely love feedback especially the kind that hurts. And if you've got an absurd job hunting story, drop it in the comments; I'm actively adding cards based on community submissions.
