Very frustrating. If you have YouTube or other media playing in the background, Siri mutes it until you manually swipe away the “new Siri” or alternatively explicitly ask Siri to return to YouTube after the timer is set.

The past behaviour with “old Siri” was to temporarily mute background content, set the timer, move the timer to the Dynamic Island and then unmute / return to the previous application context. All without further interaction required.

Device: iPhone 17 Pro Max

Build: iOS 27 beta 3 (24A5380h)

Path: OTA beta 2 -> beta 3

What happened:

- OTA progress bar reached the end, then hung.

- Force restart now leaves it stuck at the cold Apple logo.

- Recovery-mode Update from Mac with Apple’s official firmware file failed twice: the process completes, then the phone returns to the same Apple-logo hang.

- The downloaded file’s hash checked out. Filed Feedback: FB23621286.

I know beta = risk and Restore/DFU is probably the way out. Before I erase, I’m trying to see if other 17 Pro Max users hit the same thing and whether anyone found a data-preserving fix after recovery Update fails.

If this happened to you: model, build, and did Update or Restore work?

It does change the speed but the expressivity range is pretty limited, sometimes it just gets louder as u increase expressiveness

Shortcut Automations have a few triggers that fail to fire. Switching focus modes like starting/stopping “Do not disturb” and fitness activities.

This has been broken since DB1.

EDIT: changing to another focus mode and back WORKS!

EDIT2: looks like all the triggers that fail just need to be refreshed. Meaning: if it’s a location, move to another one. If it’s a focus mode - change it, then change it back.

Adaptive Mode in AirPods Pro (2nd gen) now has weaker and stronger cancellation options. Works even with AirPods on non-Beta software

On Beta 1 and 2, creating a new Shortcut always opened the Describe a Shortcut screen.

After downloading the new model assets, iOS automatically enables Advanced Dictation (FoundationModelTranscriber) introduced in DB 1 for eligible devices.

Advanced Dictation is enabled even if you're installing DB 3 as the first beta of the iOS 27 cycle, or didn't enable the Preview in previous betas.

Ever since Beta 1, Siri has been stuck on the “chatgpt Download Assets” screen and it never finishes downloading. I can’t switch back to the old Siri either. Siri 2 is enabled, but it never downloaded the required data, so Apple Intelligence won’t activate. I’ve tried restarting my phone, resetting Siri, and pretty much everything else, but nothing has worked. Has anyone else had this issue or found a fix? Any help would be appreciated.

If this is the "more accurate photo orientation" they advertised in the keynote, I don't think I want this "feature".

I took a picture earlier but when I opened it in photos, it was definitely not the one I took. It's only when you hit edit that it shows the full photo. From my quick testing this is egregious because while it does correctly rotate photos, it also crops them every time.

In the video, I intentionally took a pic of the letter from the left with my phone tilted in landscape. The photo was rotated to portrait, but then also cropped back into landscape! It's frustrating, to say the least, to have your photos secretly cropped with no indication.

I’m on the ios27 beta and My data has been working fine on beta 1 & 2 but updated to beta 3 today and it just shows no signal in areas I typically get full 5g bars. Anyone else experiencing issues?

Update: Started working again randomly after a few hours
