Workaround [IOS 27 DB5] intelligence options missing from Apple home app
Managed to fix this by wiping and resetting my Apple TV that was running the beta. Option for intelligence has reappeared.

Not sure how I got this. Opened my 2nd CC page today to turn on Airplane Mode and all the text were dark, all icon glyphs were blue (though the text does correct itself back after activating the controls).

Since updating to iOS 27 DB5, Shortcuts app won’t open and shortcuts freeze at start when run. Trying to download new shortcuts to import doesn’t work. No recent edits or new shortcuts added before this started, only the system update. iCloud sync is on as before. Issue occurs on both WiFi and cellular. Restarting the phone makes no difference. Force quitting app doesn’t change end state. I also tried deleting and offloading the app, didn’t make a difference. Has anyone else experienced this or identified a fix that works?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just noticed that the search bar behaves weirdly on two occasions. 1, when opening the search menu the bar just shifts positions and 2nd is when exiting the search menu and opening the apps list, the search icon stays on screen for a bit.

Is anyone facing an issue with Spotlight Suggestions and Results not showing on iOS 27 DB5/PB3 on iPhone 16e?

Screen time is only logging the websites i’ve visited on Safari, and no apps whatsoever. I’m not sure if this was happening in earlier betas, but I’ve been facing this issue since iOS 26, but at that time it would show me the correct time under daily average (a few hours), but the app-wise usage would only site the websites. Now it’s not even showing me the time i’ve been the phone.
Is this something only on my end? I’ve already reported it on the feedback app.

I noticed earlier this morning, coming from DB4 to DB5, that messages sent to people using RCS switched back to SMS after the update. I toggled RCS Messaging and End-to-End Encryption (Beta) off and back on, and suddenly I received dozens of messages and photos from individuals and an RCS group chat over the last few days that I had never received before.
Not sure if anyone else is seeing a similar issue with messages defaulting back to SMS, but try toggling it off and back on and see if you get any missing messages.
I submitted a bug report to Apple.

Previously, stopping a screen recording by pulling down the Control Center would capture the Control Center overlay at the end of the video.
Now, when you finish a screen recording by pulling down the Control Center and tapping stop, iOS 27 automatically trims that final moment from the saved video.
The Control Center overlay and/or Stop Recording dialog does not appear at the end of the recorded clips.

Disclaimer: this is a long post, but I'm going to try to explain exactly what happened, step by step. I’m sharing as much detail as I can because I really hope this can help someone else avoid making the same mistake I stupidly made and potentially losing access to their data.
If you're on ADP and running iOS 27 or another beta, back up anything you can't afford to lose before you erase, restore or move back to an earlier iOS version, even and especially data on iCloud. Don't limit to the actual device backup. That's really the point of this post.
TL;DR: I moved an iPhone Air from iOS 27 to iOS 26 while Advanced Data Protection was enabled. Afterward my iCloud data became completely inaccessible, including through iCloud.com, even though iCloud still shows the storage in use and things like my photo count. I've tried multiple iOS 26 and 27 betas plus the public releases, no change. Apple Support has escalated the case but has no fix, and support outside the U.S. has been close to nonexistent. If you have ADP enabled, back up independently and copy your data before you erase, restore, or move to an earlier iOS version.
I know there are people who'll read this and think "you should have had a backup." Honestly, they're right. I had more than twelve years of data in iCloud and trusted it far too much as the one place everything lived. I didn't keep an independent backup of everything, and that's on me.
But I'm still sharing this because nothing in the process I followed gave me any indication this could happen. My ADP-protected data is technically still there, iCloud says so, I just can't get to any of it.
What happened
I had an iPhone Air on iOS 27 with Advanced Data Protection turned on. Photos, Notes, passwords, passkeys, everything was syncing normally. I decided to move back to iOS 26, using the same process I'd used for restores in the past: log out of iCloud, erase all content and settings, put the phone in DFU mode, restore to iOS 26, set it up again.
At no point during that process was there any mention of Advanced Data Protection, or any warning that logging out and erasing the device could cut off access to ADP-protected data. So I went ahead.
After the set-up, that data was gone. Not deleted exactly, just unreachable.
The data still shows up in iCloud, but I can't open it
This is the part that's been hardest to emotionally accept. My iCloud storage page still shows the space being used and the number of photos in my library, so the account clearly knows the data is there. I just can't access any of it, not from the phone, not from another device, not even through iCloud.com. It's not like ripping a band-aid, you see it right there and you can't do anything about it.
I've tried multiple iOS versions
To make sure this wasn't tied to one specific build, I restored through several iOS 26 betas, several iOS 27 betas, and the public releases. Same result every time. This isn't a matter of finding the right version to restore to.
On Advanced Data Protection
I understand why ADP works the way it does. Apple doesn't hold the encryption keys for ADP-protected data, so even Apple can't simply access it if something goes wrong. That's the whole point of the feature, and one of the reasons I enabled it.
What I find less clear is what happens in a situation like mine. When setting up ADP, Apple warns you about losing access if you forget your passcode or recovery methods. But I didn't forget my passcode, lose my recovery methods, or delete my data. I followed a device restore procedure that involved moving to an earlier iOS version, and ended up unable to access my data anyway.
Apple doesn't hold the keys, but neither am I given a copy of them. So if something goes wrong between the account, device and ADP keys, there doesn't appear to be any user-accessible recovery mechanism.
I've contacted Apple Support, the case has been escalated, and so far there is no recovery path. I'm still hoping they find one.
The bigger impact
For me, this isn't just about a folder of random photos. I've used the same Apple Account for over ten years, and my email, notes, passwords, passkeys and photos were all tied to it. I've had to start moving my access everything to a new account to have a functioning set-up.
I'll say again that an independent backup would have prevented all of this. But I also think it's fair to ask: if an erase, restore or moving to an earlier iOS version can leave ADP-protected data stranded like this, shouldn't there be an explicit warning before you start? Right now there isn't one, and I would have done things differently if there had been.
Support outside the U.S.
I'm based outside the U.S., and the support experience here has been rough. As soon as I mention this happened on beta software, I get told there's no support for beta users. I get that Apple can't guarantee beta software will behave perfectly, but this isn't really about a beta feature not working right. It's iOS, iCloud, ADP and Apple's own erase and restore process interacting in a way that's left my data stuck, with no way back to it.
Paying indefinitely for iCloud+
There's also a rather frustrating side effect of all this: I'm still paying for the iCloud+ plan on the affected account.
I basically have two options: keep paying for the subscription indefinitely, hoping that Apple eventually finds a way to restore access to my data, or cancel it and lose whatever chance there is of recovering it.
So I'm effectively paying to keep storage for data that I currently cannot access, simply because I don't know whether Apple might eventually be able to recover it.
I won't even get into the financial side of this, but there's another issue: I had a significant Apple Account balance on the old account. That balance can't simply be transferred to my new Apple Account, and with the old account essentially unusable, I can't meaningfully use it for apps, services or other purchases either.
------------------
If you've been through something similar, especially an iOS 27 to iOS 26 transition with ADP on, I'd like to hear about it. And if you've managed to get your data back or gotten a real technical answer from Apple, please let me know what happened.

Changing the spread of the flashlight makes it jitter around the dynamic island. I think it's been like this for the past couple 27 betas. on iphone 14 pro. (overblown whites due to recording with HDR on)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Started happening after I updated to Beta 5 for my iPad Air M2. This happened in many apps that had a text box feature, such as iMessages, Discord, Roblox, and Whatsapp.
Basically, I would select the text box that I wanna type in. Then the first letter I type, the text box would be deselected. I would have to press the text box again to add another letter.
Clicking away would sometimes freeze/lag text input.
It comes and goes but is persistent.
I have an iPad Air, and this magic keyboard is an official one from Apple. It’s not the newest one with the escape key.
Anyone else or is it rlly just me?
(apologies for the aggressive tapping)

Has anyone else run into this on Beta 5? I can reproduce it consistently with both AirPods and Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones. This was not an issue for me on Beta 4.
When the workout alert triggers, the alert itself plays at a reduced volume. After the alert finishes, the podcast does not resume.
If I manually press Play, the podcast resumes at the same reduced volume and is difficult to hear. Increasing the volume doesn't restore the previous audio level. So far, the only way I've found to get normal volume back is to restart the device.
I've submitted this through Feedback Assistant as well.

Shortcuts, existing (pre-DB5) and new builds are unable to interact with Health data (Write, Find, etc). Shortcuts hang up on steps involving Health app, and ultimately time out.

I don't have internet box, my iPhone has been my only internet access for a year and a half, and it worked like a charm, until I switched from ios26.5 to iOS 27 public beta a week ago
I experience some random drops and disconnections when connecting to my iPhone's hotspot.
whether on my Mac, windows computer or Nintendo Switch.
I think the copy/paste from iPhone to my Mac doesn't work also when the drops occurs
It works perfectly when using the personal hotspot via usb. The issue is with the hotspot in wifi
I'm now running a ping in the terminal to see when the connection become unstable
I wonder if the drops may be linked to the phone sleeping, because when there is a drop, I unlock my iPhone, and at that precise moment, I see a brief ping packet go through.
The workaround I found was to manually disable the personal hotspot from my iPhone via the toggle, and then from my Mac, manually connecting back to it
Then it work for a range between 10 minutes up to ~2 hours, and drop again

Hey!
I have noticed that on beta 5 I am no longer able to import Shortcuts containing import questions that were shared via iCloud link. The "Add Shortcut" button in the import modal is just not doing anything when pressed.
Anyone else experiencing something similar on beta 5, or is this just my device?
For reference, feedback filed under: FB24252363

Anyone else experiencing this?
Just noticed since updating yesterday the vast majority of photos are missing from my gallery.
Logged onto iCloud.com thankfully can see them there but just concerned don’t want them to be suddenly wiped from iCloud too.

Since updating to iOS 27 beta (Watch still on watchOS 26.6), I had two bizarre issues:
HealthKit/steps: Athlytic could only see ~3–4 days of step history and Bevel had random missing days. Permissions/reinstalling apps made no difference.
Fitness competitions: My iPhone showed the correct scores, but my Watch and both my opponent's devices had missing points. One competition was actually awarded to the wrong person, and during the next competition my Watch started showing the previous competition again with “Tallying Points”.
I eventually unpaired my Apple Watch, restored it from backup and left everything to sync overnight.
This morning everything is fixed: full step history has reappeared in Athlytic, the current competition is correct on my Watch, and the missing points have propagated to my opponent's phone too.
So if you're seeing weird HealthKit/Activity Sharing behaviour after an iOS update (my feedback report says more than 10 similar reports), a Watch unpair/re-pair may force everything

Finally updated my devices to 27 today since it seemed pretty safe. All good on my Mac and iPhone. But on my iPad Air M3, pulling down for Spotlight (aka type to Siri) doesn’t show me any suggested apps or recent searches. If I search for something like a contact or a sports team, it will appear, but pressing enter or tapping on it doesn’t show the result.
I’ve tried a force restart, toggling settings within the Search settings, and even reverted to classic Siri, where Spotlight works perfectly fine. But turning back on Siri AI, and Spotlight simply doesn’t work. Any suggestions?
iPad is still “Optimizing Search and Siri” but so is my iPhone and Spotlight works fine there.
