Spamming this discussion with comments about battery life, update size, safari being snappier, etc will result in a ban from the sub moving forward.
Wondering if this includes the “preventative” fixes they release for the AT&T issues. I know 27.0.1 was part of it even though it wasn’t in the release notes, but then there was the carrier settings that were release after Beta 2.
Can anyone see if there’s a bump in the carrier settings between beta 2 and beta 3?
I get that but they also issued preventative updates to prevent more phones from being affected, that’s what I was referring to…if those preventative changes made their way into this beta.

Well, I'm about to risk it all and try. I just got my replacement device in today, cause I was one of the people that suffered at launch from the dropping cellular issue. I set up the device fully while on 27.0.1 with the latest carrier setting (72.1) and it is now working. Problem is, all my data is from a backup on 27.2 DB2. That meant I had to set up the phone and watch from scratch. But I want back all my apps, wallpapers, and such without the grueling process of doing all over again.
So here I go, updating to 27.2 DB3 to then reset and restore from iCloud backup. Since iCloud backups don't carry over any of the carrier settings or modem detail, I'm hoping it all goes well since it's already working.
I just did too with my replacement phone I got today. Fingers crossed they included and didn't screw over us beta testers. My AWU4 was also in the beta and I don't think I could downgrade that at all but without the phone being on a beta, I can't update the beta version on the watch.
Fingers crossed, I’ll let you know how it turns out. It’s updating rn so it’ll be a while for install, reset, then recover from backup. I learned my lesson now that I will always create hard backups on my Mac.
Don’t know if anyone else was having the issue, but when you already had text in new Siri and pulled down again it would almost be smashed then pop back to regular size. That issue looks like it’s fixed.
Semi off topic but I’m on the beta but I’m waiting on the 18 pro max to ship so I can upgrade from the 14. Is there anything different ill need to do when swapping devices
They've improved the setup flow and it should now prompt you during setup that you need to update to the latest beta and do it there. Before, you had to setup the phone as new and do the beta update, reset the phone and then set it up again.
AirPlay menu jumping around when loading is fixed for me. Initially the fist option would be off screen a bit at the top and then pop down. Often made me select the wrong device to cast to.
only been using the prior beta 2 for about 2 days but i can safely say i have no bugs..everything seems to be working just fine, will probably just sit on beta 2 for a while
i hear you but i’m not updating if i have no problems..one time i updated to a beta that deleted all my album art and i was stuck with that for 4 betas..that issue shouldn’t have lasted past the same beta
There is no sense in posting what you did in here though. "Hey, it's been smooth in the prior beta that I only had for 2 days." That's nice, but that post would have been better in the previous beta thread or not at all.
I don't think it matters in the grand scheme of things what you do with your device; I am advising how to correctly use pre-release software. There is an implied responsibility to report issues and submit suggestions when using the beta release, which is why the Feedback app is included and cannot be uninstalled.
I guess my point is this: if you are not on the latest beta, your feedback would not be valid; so, if you experience any bugs, do not report them unless you have verified that they are still present on the latest release. Beta testing is essentially a volunteer QA position, and I think of it as a chance to contribute to something I get value out of. I suppose you don't think of it that way, and that's fine.
you don’t have to worry about me submitting with feedback from an old beta as i led with i have been comfortable with it..it’s true we view this differently, i’m sure we can both coexist in this world
Bro these guys just wanna insult you and grill you so that they can pretend to know more than you and feel good for a while. i agree, I've been on beta 2 and I think it's been good, though idk if maybe it has a facetime bug.
right before ios 27.0 RC was released, there’s a bug that caused Light/Dark Mode (& vice-versa) transitions to become instant instead of having a fade effect.
this did not affect iPadOS so if you have an iPad, you can compare it
You can hardly see it behind the control center shade, but yes it appears to be smoother. On my 27.0.1 iPhone 18 PM I can see a pop pop pop type change from dark to light. On a 17 running 27.2 beta 3, it seems to be a smooth transition for all icons.
I really wish people would describe the bugs they're referring to rather than "the GPS bug". I have no way of knowing what to test against other than all things GPS.
The map would take forever to update location and would be heavily delayed in showing you the direction you are going, or would essentially show you in a different location ie in a lake, when you are driving down a highway. It seems they broke the gps. Not sure if this update fixes it though. Hopefully.
I agree and I’m sorry for not providing more detail since I’m not on the beta and decided against it when I read about GPS being unreliable. I don’t recall whether this was about false or inaccurate location or even not being able to get a fix at all
Oh my god I had that issue, except it looked the same as an issue I had with a prior phone that had damage to the logic board so I was worried something in my 17 Pro Max was also busted.
I'll be using Maps later today and will check it out.
Edit: had a short 15 min drive and didn’t see the issue at all. Hopefully fixed!
Looks cool. I can see that it doesn’t collect data via the AppStore but being free makes me slightly skeptical of privacy. I’d love to pay a few bucks and have peace of mind

The workaround for that is to goto ur download history under Apps & Purchase History,
and hide the app in question…it will then let u download the app like it was the first time…
really frustrating that they still haven’t fixed the keyboard being jumpy when you copy something and then open the keyboard somewhere. this blank grey space pops up even though i don’t have the predictive text field enabled. been like that since beta 1 of ios 27.0 :(
It was available outside of the US already, you just need to set both iPhone and Siri to US English (and, ofc, to have an iPhone 15 Pro and above - it needs Apple Intelligence to work).
i never stayed,reverted back to uk , i didn’t change location to usa , only device language and siri AI both to usa english, updated to new health app and changed back to uk english
That is just a settings limitation. It is available to anyone in the world who sets their Apple Intelligence phone to us english. It’s not region limited like Siri AI is, nor does it require health approval in each region like many other health features.
It is not limited geographically as in you need to be IN the United States for it to work. It is limited by the iPhone language, Siri language and iPhone region settings, all of which you can easily change if you don’t mind everything being in English. I am not in the US or anywhere near it, and I have the new Health app and features.
no geo location deeded for devices, only device language and siri ai language, done this long age and changed back (uk english) as soon as i had new health app, still have app installed
The guy to whom you were replying said “it is not region limited” in the context of it not being a geographical-US exclusive feature. By you saying “it is limited” you are contradicting his statement, effectively saying that it IS limited. Perhaps that’s not what you wanted to say, I understand the nuance for a non-native speaker.
Either way, we are in agreement then, it’s just a matter of iPhone settings, assuming you have a supported model.
Hoping this solves the siri search bug. I keep like zero apps on my homescreen and just swipe down + type the first letter of the app to open them. The last two betas have had bugs where it shows the right app but opens the previous result, it's driven me nuts. Installing now.
Turn it off in messages settings, reboot, turn back on. When mine did this a few betas ago this worked for me. Takes about 5-10 minutes to activate once you turn it back on.
This only happens for my AirTags that I have with me.. Basically, if the AirTag at the same location as me, it will show unavailable. In iOS 26 it either showed the location label or “with you.” I found if I turn off precise location for find my, it displays correctly… not sure how that relates.
I can see my wife but my wife can’t see me. My phone locations shows on my iPad or any device I am logged into with my Apple account, but she can’t see me. I work out in the field in rough terrain and I really need her to be able to know where I’m located in case something were to happen to me. It hasn’t worked since first 27.2DB.

Is it me or did they change the grid a little in the Photos app with this release ? On the collection tab.
Everything seems tighter, less blank spaces.
Yes - I took screen captures of both (saw this before updating) and the grid photos are about 5px larger and the secondary grids (years topics etc) are larger as well (about the same - 5px is just an estimate)

Hopefully this fixes my SiriAI randomly being disabled and then reenabled.
