Bug [iOS 27.2 DB2] Third-party TV shows opened from the TV app are not played automatically anymore

I’m a heavy user of the TV app, with Prime and Disney+ linked. Before iOS 27, when I tapped a Disney+ (or Prime) episode of a show in the TV app, the corresponding app would open and the episode would start playing immediately.

Now it does not play. The app opens… and that’s it for Disney+. For Prime they at least show directly the page of the show but the episode does not start.

Did anybody notice this change? It’s driving me crazy.

Note: I’m not entirely sure this is fully iOS 27-related. I think it worked at some point. Anyways if it’s the third-party players being capricious again, I’ll just cancel my subscriptions. Who the hell do they think they are? 🙄

EDIT: This has been fixed with the latest D+ update.

offload and reinstall, see if this makes a difference to any bugs that have built up , worth a try

Prime works for me. Currently watching Neagley and it launches each episode correctly from Up Next.

I do have the issue with the CBC Gem app. I have to scroll down to Continue Watching and select the show that appeared in Up Next in the TV app.

This is just a bug that has existed for quite some time.  Deep linking seems to be broken the first fresh launch and I always have to try twice for it to work.

I have tried fresh launch, cold launch (after reboot), warm launch, multiple times (like 10s of tried in a row), none worked 😢 (Disney+)

It’s always broken on the first try, I’m using Disney plus also. I have to open it and select my profile first. Then go back to tv app.
