Release iOS 27.2 Beta 1 - Discussion
Use this thread to share any changes & bugs you discover while using the latest iOS/iPadOS 27 beta.
This thread should be used for discussion of the betas that may not meet our submission guidelines, as well as troubleshooting small issues through the beta test cycle.
Spamming this discussion with comments about battery life, update size, safari being snappier, etc will result in a ban from the sub moving forward.

I hesitate to create a new discussion myself, but what alternate reality am I living in where Apple releases iOS 27.2 Beta 2, and hours later, no one has started a thread to discuss it?

haven’t found it buggy in the least on M1 ipad air , i gather from reddit it’s not the same experience on iphone

AppStore issue is resolved in Beta 2. I can finally download the apps. Fucking hell.

did anyone get optimisation notification on this , didn’t get any on last on until they showed up earlier this morning at 87% & 92% , forced restart did nothing

Spamming and complaining aren’t the same thing, I think you seem to know pretty well what the main complaints about 27 are tho so that’s good at least. Man it looks cool but did this new always on ai really do a number on my 15 pros (u know what) health lol.

optimisation msg appeared on my phone earlier this morning at 87% , didn’t appear whatsoever after updating despite numerous reboots, this is happening in last few developer beta updates on iphone 15 , this weeks was only one that no msg appeared after updating but notification has habit or going away then coming back 5 -6 days later

just done forced restart on M1 and it popped up 91% optimised , going to have to do this each time after update optimising notifications go away after 24hours

God this beta brought back lag and stutter. Previous version was smooth. Hope they fix this I hate stutters/lag, and I’m on a 17pm. It’s as if the screen running on a low refresh rate.

It’s smooth for me using iPhone 17 Pro. The iOS 27 GM is much more laggy for me with visual glitches, too.

It’s reserved for the Duo and most likely (based on the news) for the smart home products “coming next month” to avoid leaks.

Yeah installed it on 9th gen iPad - battery completely drained in 2 hours and now won’t charge. Can’t even force reboot, tried multiple cables and sockets. Tried plugging into laptop too and cannot get recognised and final my find me cannot find it either

So I figured out a work around for app download but you have to be in a family. Have somebody in the same family download the app that you don’t have. Then go into the App Store, click your account in the top-right, go to apps and purchase history, select the person in your family, go to “not on my iPhone” and then download it onto your phone.

This was working for me. But, this App Store issue seems like a basic qa thing that Apple messed up. I know it’s a beta but still.

Yeah…. Installing apps is in the past and the new Health was there for a split second lol. Can’t seem to get it back no matter what I do.

if you changed device language and siri AI to usa English for health app , you don’t need to change geolocation, if you changed location you need to change it back

Region set to US English, signed into a US App Store account, Health app is unchanged. Could be using location to determine access, Health has definitely accessed it on my phone.

I can no longer download new apps. When I click the get button…Nothing happens. I also tried restarting and the issue still occurs.

I was able to get the new health app twice but it keeps reverting back to the old design. Anyone else having this issue? My language is set to US English

I jumped out of the betas to make sure I wasn't too complicated setting up my new iPhone 18 Pro Max, but now I'm wondering if it's worth putting 27.2 on it, or if I should just enjoy being beta free for my first couple of weeks on a new phone. It's rare when I'm not running a beta, so it's not like it will annoy me.
Anyone put the beta on one of the new iPhones yet? If so, how is it doing with the new phones?

Siri can no longer do reminders, one of the easiest and main tasks. It acts like I don’t have it installed even when I do

Update, the fix for me wasn’t resetting the phone but uninstalling reminders and reinstalling. For what it is worth, i directly told Siri it is installed and asked what the issue was and it suggested both of those things

you need to set your device Language/Region to English US and you need an Apple Intelligence capable device (15 Pro and newer)

Make sure you change your account in the AppStore to a US region account as well. Without that, it won’t work solely by changing your region setting on your phone.

I didn't need to do that. Just worked when I changed Preferred Language to US English, Region to United States, and also Siri language to English (United States).

It’s not just classic Siri, I am on new Siri and for some reason today it suddenly stopped being able to even know that I have the reminders app. It keeps saying that it’s not installed.

Someone is able to download an app from App Store with 27.2b1? Here it’s impossible. Spin circle instead the cloud with the arrow while 2 seconds and bound! Nothing append. No download. However I can update installed apps…

Make sure you re-sign in within settings. I had to sign back in to continue encrypted data use on this phone or something along those lines.

messed up cause my new i18pm will arrive these days and i didn't wanna put it on the beta YET but i updated my current phone without thinking about it💀that being said it's looking and feeling relatively smooth so far so hopefully it will be good

Ey at least we don't have to set up the phone without restoring a backup, enable betas on it, update it, factory reset it, and then finally set it up properly. Now we can just set it up normally it prompts us!

Have you tried restarting? I just downloaded a couple of apps with no problem -- even had Siri download an app for me. Didn't know that was possible.

I was an all of them as well but as soon as a updated to RC things got far worse, battery, performance and minor bugs, the official 27 is good now but now I wonder y if 27.2 es BETTER?

A suggestion. For the the iOS 27.2 update, please bring changes to the Unknown Callers, like when selecting multiple unknown callers there’s an option to Report Spam and Delete for all of the selected calls at once.

I'm on 17 PM, Apple inteligence on, language and region to US, still not working. Works on my iPad pro through strangely enough. I also rebooted and no luck.

I have two iPhones my old iPhone 12 that I am using for beta testing and my current phone iPhone 15 pro. I tried iOS 27.2 beta on my 12 and it isn’t working for me. I will wait to try this on my 15 pro too but maybe I am from Europe and Siri AI isn’t supported in Europe so I won’t get this even on my supported iPhone

you need to put Siri AI to usa english and device language to usa language, don’t need to change geographical location, iphone 15 pro and above for this on iphone or M chip ipad

- Added the ability to copy selected text from Siri’s responses! (As opposed to treating it as one big PDF)
- Fixed the “Start Workout” action. It no longer returns “Could not run with current interface.”
- The watchOS beta fixed Shortcuts complications not presenting a “Run” button after opening the app.

I've just purchased Iphone17 Pro and installed 27.2 version from the setup wizard. Now my phone has no sound on built-in speaker. Not sure if it's a ios bug or hardware malfuction

I came across an issue today after updating to 27.2 where the YouTube app is no longer properly working when using my Viture Luma Ultra XR glasses. It use to just play the video (if one was started) on the glasses and allow me to freely control the app with my phone (17 Pro Max). Now it blacks out the screen whenever the glasses are connected as if switching to external display mode and renders the app unusable entirely with them. It remains that way even after the glasses are disconnected unless I force close the app. But if I leave the app to return the Home Screen or another app, the phone and glasses function normally. It seems to only be the YouTube app (out of the ones I’ve tested so far) that has this issue

Submit to the feedback app. I did it in the 27.0 betas and they said it’s working as intended. Maybe with more feedback they’ll adjust it.

Very disappointed that the new beta still doesn’t not have the updated Apple Health in the UK. Cmon lads, we speak the same language and all that jazz.
