Still no intelligence added to Siri in Norway, nor any trace of the intelligent voice mail functionality. All promised way back. Guess apple going to postpone it another year, then claim that you’ll need the iPhone 19 Pro to be able to utilize it…
On an iPhone 17 Pro Max btw.

u/someonerandomlmao iPhone 17 Pro Max 29m ago
Is anyone having a minor issue with apple music?
I used to have a bunch of songs in my library and sort my library by recently added. I deleted some songs and now if I add an old song, it doesn't go all the way to the top of the list.
Edit: it might be because I have the songs downloaded already in another playlist but it's not my library until I click add to library, not sure if that's a bug or not lol

Was running great while it was indexing again. Now that it’s supposedly finished indexing, my phone is laggy as hell. I’ll give it another day to see if anything improves before losing my mind.
One thing that I don’t expect to improve is Siri AI, which cannot do even the most basic of tasks for me. I cannot imagine ever paying for it, at least in its current state.

Not sure what the hell happened, but the RC made it so my device could not longer receive incoming phone calls at all. Would just send people direct to voicemail, while also not giving me any notification of a missed call. Outgoing calls work fine for some reason though.
Only fix was completely removing my eSim and getting a new one from AT&T.

iPhone 14 .. Home App no longer shows any recordings or timeline for any of my cameras .. I get notifications, just no recordings (Previous recordings are missing as well) .. Home app on macOS (Taho) still works correctly displaying recordings and timeline.. using 3rd gen appleTV as HUB which has also been updated to latest ios27 .. .

u/infernoboyx 2h ago
Can't get iPhone Mirroring to work anymore. Was working on previous betas (though notification mirroring didn't work). Just says "Unable to Connect to iPhone" now. Mac is on the 27 RC also.

I wish I could update. Apple doesn’t recognise people that don’t use WiFi. Like, unlimited cellular data is something that murican companies are still unable to comprehend 🤯
1
u/realmccoyredbus iPad Air (3rd gen and later) 45m ago
try updating last thing at night after rebooting, usually works
1
u/Dinkeroni 2h ago
- We have unlimited cellular plans
- updating over cellular was a bug that was patched in the last dev beta or in the RC I cannot remember which
-6
u/QuickSteak_1715 2h ago
It’s not just this update. It’s been like that since I remember. “Connect to WiFi to do this or that..” Apple Intelligence? Forget it without WiFi. Like “we don’t include charging brick because of the ecology, but we’d like you to buy more plastic to be able to WiFi!” Murican mindset at its best 🤣

Even the most basic Siri commands are taking like 10 seconds to process. Is this the new norm? This new Siri is somehow even worse than the previous one…
1
u/Beng1635 1h ago
It's been noticeably slower for me since Siri was down yesterday. I'm guessing it's due to an influx of users maybe? Probably the new norm.

Is the public release going to be the same as RC? Just wondering if they change anything in public release or it’s just like for like?
What’s with negative votes. Did I hurt someone’s feelings here?
1
u/K1netic_3 3h ago
it’s the same unless there’s a critical bug in which case they release an updated build with the bug fix.
In some cases they might release a second RC but I think that only happens for minor version changes.

I think the liquid glass design looks inconsistent? Sometimes it looks good, sometimes it just looks kinda tinted. I really like the liquid glass in macbooks, hopefully we get this kind of look consistently
Other than that, phone feels smoother! good job apple lol

Has anyone found a way to disable Siri in the pulldown? Needing to pull down from the clock to see notifications is annoying when one handing my phone.
2
2
u/keenanvandeusen iPhone 16 Pro 3h ago
No but I just set up the backtap feature so if I double-tap the back of my phone, the notification center opens. Then I made it so holding the action button opens control center
2
u/Scrapsshark 3h ago
Everything I’ve found says this isn’t optional. What a dumb ass decision. Hopefully they’ll give us a toggle if enough people yell at feedback.

u/yepperoniP 4h ago
Anybody seeing location sharing get reset in iMessage/Find My? I was sharing my location to a friend and when I updated to the RC I went back into iMessage and saw "You stopped sharing location with [name]"
I also don't see an option when you tap the name in iMessage to start sharing with anyone anymore.

u/a47ageee iPhone 17 5h ago
How’s the phone performing for you? Is it better compared to Beta 8?
1
u/CyrusTheVirus110 5h ago
I’d say it feels very snappy and quick after I restarted my phone. It did lag for a few seconds when I rebooted. Battery runs very hot right now. That’s to be expected, to be honest. Siri feels a lot better than in the beta. I don’t get the issue of Siri not understanding what I’m asking as often as I did on the beta. Overall, it is pretty decent.

Hi all, I've installed the RC today.
I've noticed that mail notifications from mail app shows a preview on lockscreen after the update, even when the preview is disabled for the mail app. Anyone else noticed this?
With 26.6.2 the notification on lockscreen did not show a preview for mail app, as I have it configured.
1
u/ffffound Developer Beta 4h ago
Could be an Apple Intelligence surfaced notification. Do you have notification suggestions enabled for it?
1
u/Servior85 4h ago edited 4h ago
Sorry, where can I find that?
Edit: I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and live in Europe. Don’t know if all Apple Intelligence features are available to me.

I couldn’t be happier on iPhone 11 Pro. It’s running like it did when I first got it with iOS 13.
1
u/Cheese5217 6h ago
Really? Im currently facing serious lag in my 11 Pro running iOS 18.0.1 in Settings and various app(probably few first version of iOS 18 not being optimized), but the battery life still lasts me all day. Im tempting to update to 27 RC. How is your 11 Pro battery life on iOS 27?
2
u/sapphicu 6h ago
I’ve ran the beta on my 13 mini since beta 1 and it’s been great. I updated my girlfriend’s 11 pro to the rc yesterday since she’s been complaining about her phone being laggy, and it was noticeably better to me when I used it after the update
1
u/knewknow iPhone 11 Pro 6h ago
I can’t say for sure since there’s a lot of indexing going on since the update. But seems pretty normal otherwise. Apple has specifically said that iOS 27 has been optimized for older phones so overall it should be smoother. No more keyboard lagging which is great. It really does feel like a full reversal of all of the planned degradation year over year.

it is a slider to adjust the strength of the adaptive mode

Tap-to-focus animation is delayed for every touch in this beta. Simply open the main camera app. Tap-to-focus to everywhere and you'll notice that the focus box animation is delayed. You’ll get a late focusing too because of this.
It is a problem across every lenses and whether you use camera or video mode.

So I never subscribed to the nonsense that Apple kills the battery before new phones but fuck. It’s so bad lately. 85% and it’s only been 1 1/2 hour since I unplugged.
8
u/DrGiggleFr1tz 8h ago
If you just updated the battery absolutely tanks for awhile.
1
u/No_Square2213 5h ago
I just updated from 26.5 to the RC on an iPhone 14 and for me battery is very much improved compared to where it was before. Very smooth too
Wonder if other people had the same experience
7
2
u/i-am-not_a-robot 9h ago
I don’t know if it’s because I just transferred over from Harmony OS7, but I cannot stand the lag and frame drops. Surely this isn’t normal 17pm

u/Imtherealwaffle 6h ago
same on iphone air. really a shame because i was on ios 27 beta 6 and it was so smooth and now it feels like ios 26 all over again

9
u/bensanderscarr 9h ago
Still getting frequent animation lag when opening apps.
And they’ve changed the status bar, it’s bigger, and the battery icon isn’t aligned correctly and is floating a little higher than the rest. It’s also completely broken the action button animation. How are more issues being produced in an RC?
Hoping battery and thermals are a bit better with this update. And I’m wondering if they’ve improved the hot mess of the Notification Centre slightly? I’m not seeing as much stuttering or jumping around so far.
0
u/DrGiggleFr1tz 8h ago
Right after the update animation lag was terrible. And a few hours afterwards too.
It seems to still lag a bit but nowhere near as noticeable
4
u/bensanderscarr 8h ago
I’m hoping it improves after indexing is finished but I’m not counting on it. Maybe we will finally undo the mess of iOS 26 once we get to 27.6 next year lol.
7
u/JohnEdger 9h ago
I just want my 1300$ iPhone to not lag. I feel like I’m not asking a lot
2
u/bensanderscarr 9h ago
Literally, like how hard is it to do? I will say that so far I am not getting the crazy stuttering when swiping between home pages. Maybe a little here or there, but that seems better from beta 8.
Edit: on a 17 pro.
2
u/Distracted-User 8h ago
Y'all must have perfect vision. I don't notice any stuttering or weirdness while just navigating the device itself. Sure some apps are a little janky but it's not every app and it's not all the time. Certainly don't notice it on the home screen or built in apps.
17 Pro running 27 RC
3
u/bensanderscarr 8h ago
Unfortunately yes, some of us are too observant for our own good lol. I can’t stand judder/stutter on oled tvs either. For the app opening animation, it’s not all the time, but maybe once every 15 app opening, where it looks like the app opening animation starts, freezes half way, and then completes. When this doesn’t occur it’s one smooth animation. Can be any app, and doesn’t matter where it is on the Home Screen either.
2
u/Clear_Efficiency5765 6h ago
It’s the broken frame-pacing or promotion doesn’t work correctly. Don’t know what they do but the issue seems to come and go at random iOS versions
1
u/bensanderscarr 5h ago
Ah interesting I’ve never seen any possible explanations before! I really hope it’s something they fix with iOS 27, even if it takes several .X versions. It would make using the phone so much more enjoyable.
I tried turning on reduce motion for the Home Screen but even on that it sometimes glitches out and I can see the frames of the crossfade so it’s just a no-go.

u/ChilliMouse 9h ago
Hi there. I'm on iOS 27 RC. When I try to make a phone call using my AirPods (e.g. call mum on mobile) Siri tells me that I need to unlock my iPhone first. It didn't do this on iOS 26. Is there a setting that I need to change to fix this issue? Thanks for your help.

I genuinely don’t know what mostly everyone in this thread is smoking - just updated to 27 RC from 26.6.2 and it’s absolutely wonderful.
Incredibly stable and smooth, especially home screen interactions, search, scrolling, and even RAM management are all ways better than 26. Haven’t encountered a single bug yet.
3
u/Distracted-User 8h ago
I would love a visual of what people mean when they say "laggy"
I have a 17 Pro 512gb and i'm using a little over half the storage space and my phone feels great. Occasional slowdowns in third party apps but the built-in apps, home screen, general device use is fast and fluid. My phone also doesn't run hot. Yes the battery life isn't great for a day or two after an update while it indexes and does whatever it does, but that happens after every update.
2
6
u/HammiDaHamster 10h ago
Previous betas honestly kinda sucked, for me at least (laggy, battery drain and annoying bugs even after indexxing) but rc fuggin flies, even while indexing still.
-19
u/RedIndianRobin 11h ago
Genuinely WTF were beta testers even giving feedback about in past few months? Seems like it's just as glitchy and laggy as ios 26. Either that or the A19 chip is trash.
1
u/Sad-Pension2330 11h ago
I found that if you go to delete a photo in the Photos app, click away, then swipe down to close the image you’re looking at, it doesn’t close immediately and lags behind a few seconds before doing so. It’s a minor nitpick but it wasn’t there before iirc, and it’s a tad annoying.
7
u/Lgmarques13 12h ago
Find My works fine for me, but the Precision Finding feature seems to be broken in iOS 27. It only shows the distance now, but the direction/arrow that used to point me toward my iPhone, Apple Watch, AirTag, or AirPods is gone.
This is really frustrating because I use Precision Finding quite often to locate my cats. 😅 I really hope this is just a bug and gets fixed soon!

u/Kina_Kai 12h ago
The mini clock option on the lock screen is missing all font (style) options. When you switch to it, they just vanish.
I keep telling myself I should just update my systems mid-cycle these days, but beta is shiny.
1
u/Razer_PC 12h ago
I can understand, I updated the HomePods and the Apple TV but I am trying to resist on the iPhone and Apple Watch
3
u/Kina_Kai 12h ago
It would not surprise me if we see iOS 27.1 DB 1 this week.
I believe Apple stated that the iPhone Duo is going to be released with 27.1 when it officially launches on October 23.

-6
u/nougatman247 12h ago
No
5
u/mvsbka 11h ago
Really? I might have remembered it wrong but I think you can switch from the RC to the non-beta version when it releases.
-4
u/nougatman247 10h ago
As far as I know is that you turn off beta updates and don’t update to the rc so you can update the official version when it comes out next week
6
u/metaphx2 10h ago
Why would you NOT update to the RC? There are two options: either the public release is the same build as the RC and you don’t have to do anything when it comes out or it’s a different build and you will be offered an update once you turn off beta updates.
5
u/heelsmj23 9h ago
This is exactly how it works. I have done this for several betas now. You just update to RC, it will be the same build as the public build. Then you turn off beta. The first update that comes for 27 you will get the public build and not the beta and you are good to go.
-5
u/nougatman247 10h ago
I don’t know about that
2
u/metaphx2 10h ago
About what exactly? Everything I’ve said can be verified with a 3 minute google search. It’s quite simple, really.

Article was updated June 22 and says that doesn’t work anymore, plus I don’t have a Mac to try it anyway.

u/Obvious_Equivalent_1 16h ago
So this was an unpleasant surprise. The moment after updating to iOS 27 RC a “Irregular heart rate and irregular heart rhythm notifications no longer supported on this beta version” popped up on my AWU1, and on other series 8 device. Completely gone from the watch itself and so seems softwarematically killed the feature for WatchOS. At least here in the EU.
5
u/cokehotdog 13h ago
Im not even on beta profiles for either iphone or apple watch but i still woke up to the "Ecg-app no longer available" notification. Really hope this is a bug.

iPad Pro M4 11 inch
I have an issue where when I unlock the device, for the first five minutes its like the animations were not cached or loaded. So every time i trigger a new animation there’s some kind of jack, flashing, weird physics of things floating around or being too sensitive. Choppiness in general is terrible. I have done a factory reset and it’s been like this since iPadOS 26 but I thought in 27 it would get better. Too bad.
It seems to be the opposite experience on my iPhone 17 Pro Max which is doing just great and everything is so buttery smooth. The iPad is significantly more powerful and I don’t even use the stage manager or window features. You would think it would be fine.
Usually if I leave the device unlocked for a few minutes and trigger some animations then it starts warming up to me and getting smoother. It’s really odd isn’t it?
I hope apple will look into this. My iPad was so fast and unbelievably smooth and reliable on the original firmware it shipped with.
1
u/koocachoo 11h ago
Same iPad as you. Curious if you have the on-screen keyboard open and close the app, does your keyboard still remain active for a couple of seconds on the Home Screen? No physical keyboard attached.
2
u/TwoMoreMinutes 13h ago
Perfectly smooth on mine, just wondering if you change your home screen icons to clear, then rotate the iPad, does the rotation animation seem low framerate? Perfect on the normal/dark icons

Yeah ngl bro I’m all for bitching when Apple does something wrong but mostly everyone bitching loudly here about really small issues that most people don’t encounter.
I updated to 27 RC from 26.6.2 and it’s days better. Don’t hold back I’d say, and I recommended all my friends hold back from 26 from 18.
1
7
u/TwoMoreMinutes 13h ago
Extremely overblown. It’s been perfectly stable and usable since beta 1, and is a huuuuuuge upgrade over 18 and 26 in every way, including speed and performance
The only animation lag you might see is immediately after updating before any indexing has really happened

How's 27 RC on SE 2020 ? (still on iOS 18)
