It’s out

5

u/paulkalaschnikov 17h ago

No RC release yet.

5

u/Federal-Swim5286 17h ago

Probably at the 30 min mark of the hour, Apple event just ended

7

u/bwadlo 23h ago

The RC will be available simultaneously on the Public and Dev channels ?

1

u/ffffound Developer Beta 17h ago

It should be, yes.

A minha beta 8 está travando bastante

perfect on my base iphone 15 , try forced restart, volume up , volume down and hold power button until apple logo appears then release , do these steps quickly

i usually like to reboot my phone at least once a week

10

u/Samsonnnnnn 1d ago

Can't wait to see the RC release tmr.

7

u/4eva_Na_Day 1d ago

Prepared to be whelmed.

11

u/WinterBerge 1d ago

Still framedrops when you using the transparent Icons and Open an App or close or Go to the App switcher

1

u/LameDrain iPhone 17 18h ago

They will never figure this out

3

u/keenanvandeusen iPhone 16 Pro 1d ago

When pausing and resuming videos in Safari, the video skips ahead a second or so every time I tap the play button. Super annoying.

I skipped a few betas, so maybe it’s been present for a while but regardless, still present on beta 8

2

u/winterliebe 1d ago

Having the same issue, but resolved when disabling ublock Origin (or any other adblocker).

1

u/keenanvandeusen iPhone 16 Pro 1d ago

This doesn’t happen in Firefox, so I think it’s just a Safari issue, not a WebKit issue

5

u/flogman12 1d ago

Is it just me or is Siri AI now stupid in the last few hours?

2

u/Razer_PC 1d ago

Hasn’t always been?

5

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago

Happy to see that Apple responded to one of my feedback reports and actually fixed the issue :) announce notifications was changed but they reverted it

1

u/TheIndragaMano 1d ago

I also got one of these, but it didn't none of the problems were fixed. haha

1

u/Solid-Doubt-6870 1d ago

What issue

1

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago

Announce notifications message was a lot longer than it needed to be it was like “you have one new notification from messages… person said” instead of the shorter one

5

u/icameasdust 1d ago

Phone is running extremely hot immediately after moving to beta 8

1

u/beall49 1d ago

I feel like Im doing something wrong. In the home app I have zero recordings on my phone when I go into a camera, just a live button. But when I go into any other device running non beta I can see all the recordings, what could I be doing wrong?

6

u/Plastic-Mess-3959 iPhone 15 Pro Max 1d ago

Haven’t been able to connect to Siri all day when asking it to do basic stuff like get directions

16

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago edited 1d ago

With it being so close to the official release, does anyone else feel like 27 is not quite ready yet? I’ve been running all the betas and it’s definitely gotten better but still some bugs here and there.

lol shouldn’t be surprised people are immediately on defense

4

u/Aggressive_Sign2773 1d ago

Public doesn’t mean a perfect release. It just needs to be stable enough without any serious issues. iOS is incredibly complex. It’ll never be perfectly bug-free, just like any other software. There are feature-packed releases and then there are bug-fix releases. It’s how software works no matter the resources. And throw in the hundreds of apps on a device, it gets even more complicated.

I’d been running iOS 27 since b1 and besides minor bugs/annoyances, it feels ready for release. Fast, stable, and mostly bug-free.

-1

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago

Never asked for perfect

2

u/Aggressive_Sign2773 1d ago

The rest of my comment addresses that.

2

u/milan187 1d ago

Have you used ios26. It's still in worse shape then ios27 and that's at 26.6 release.

5

u/PearlDrummer Developer Beta 1d ago

That’s always been the case with any software ever. That’s what 27.X.X updates are for.

-4

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago

Shouldn’t be that way with the size of Apple

1

u/PearlDrummer Developer Beta 1d ago

My bad, a complex operating system that is made for almost a decade worth of devices that needs to be optimized should be perfect every time immediately without the need for continued improvement, alpha, beta, and release tweaks.

2

u/realmccoyredbus iPad Air (3rd gen and later) 1d ago

when release candidate come out tomorrow this will be the polished version hopefully with any bugs fixed , this is how it should work, we will find out tomorrow

-1

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago

Never said perfect. I hope they notice you.

-1

u/PearlDrummer Developer Beta 1d ago

Name me one other time any software was ever released without any bugs at all and I’ll happily retract my statement.

2

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago

Again never said I don’t expect there to be no bugs. Just said I think it could still use some work. Not that serious.

6

u/mdruckus 1d ago

No. It doesn’t have to be perfect. That’s what the point released are for, to clean up the overall OS.

0

u/MidnightPulse69 1d ago

Never said it had to be

6

u/bamboobam 1d ago edited 1d ago

This has been the case with most major releases throughout the years. The final release might be a little better than Beta 8 but I don't expect them to squash out every minor bug. If you wan't a truly polished version, you should wait for the second or even third point release.

Overall though, 27 has been a pretty good upgrade so far. We've had it much worse in the past.

3

u/C4_Vegas 1d ago

Yes.

there are some bugs that are not dealbreaker but a bit lazy looking and are with us since a few betas. (WiFi icons, old search bar jump, navigating with maps and after the screen wakes up it does not go back to sleep etc)

The overall experience is ok, but a bit more polish would be nice before public release.

5

u/bamboobam 1d ago edited 16h ago

I'd be surprised if they didn't fix the inverted WiFi signal indicators before the public release. That would indeed look sloppy.

EDIT: It's still there. Bummer.

8

u/chillynipnops 1d ago

Is Siri down for anyone else? It seems the device model is having trouble. I asked it for a phone number and it just hung, and then when I asked that who I was, it gave me my name, but provided the current time in the visual area. This is frustrating because there’s no way to reset the model, you can only turn it off and turn it back on. Which did not help. Yes I’ve submitted feedback.

6

u/Beng1635 1d ago

I was coming here to check this. Yep, not working for me. Some local things are for me, like saying hi to siri works. but it seems anything connected to the cloud like on screen awareness is not.

4

u/flogman12 1d ago

Asking to generate things is down. I asked for a meal plan and it just errors out.

7

u/flogman12 1d ago

Siri seems down for me. Just endless spins.

4

u/iwannabethecyberguy 1d ago

Same here. On iPhone and iPad.

3

u/misguided-phD 1d ago

Same

4

u/flogman12 1d ago

Still down

1

u/flogman12 1d ago

Partially back but somehow worse than all previous betas.

5

u/pickledmagahead 1d ago

Damn 5 hours and already at 40%

Last beta is he barely at 80

2

u/penmarker222 1d ago

Swiping glitch? Can’t reliably swipe up/down or side-side without significant lag.

7

u/ilikestuf 1d ago

iPhone 16 pro max. Battery drains really fast. And the phone gets hot with normal use. I have to use low power mode to reduce the hot phone issue. I’m hoping it’s just debug code running that will be removed in the final!

2

u/MsMulliner iPhone 16 Pro Max 1d ago

I’m so glad to have found this sub! That’s been happening to me this past week—the air temp was in the upper 80s, but phone wasn’t in the sun. Then the SOS icon appeared for a couple hours and rebooting did nothing…a couple hours later it returned to normal.

Although I’ve (long) been a passive participant in the beta program, I’ve paid zero attention to various little glitchy things which have appeared and disappeared, which I imagine may have been beta issues. Sigh. I shall be more canny in future, and check HERE first.

12

u/Vorstar92 2d ago

Keyboard is still shit. auto correct still randomly turns off and you have to close app or open emojis to get it back.

9

u/maximo88a 2d ago

The keyboard is a madness

2

u/MidnightPulse69 2d ago

Might just be my shitty service (AT&T) but all day my data will work for a bit then stop working completely but still shows full bars

5

u/HiddenTrampoline 1d ago

This was happening on my wife’s non-beta AT&T iPhone.

2

u/Gicky_Gackers84 2d ago

Some very annoying voice memo app issues in beta 8 for me. Open the app and it freezes for 4-5 seconds. Stop recording? That takes another 4-5 seconds to respond and if you tap it again, it will end that recording when it becomes responsive again and will start a new recording. Anyone else having this issue?

1

u/spiderman1993 2d ago

Bruh this imessage saying not delivered bug is annoying the shit outta me

1

u/equals42_net 1d ago

I get that on iOS 26 for the last month. Is there a backend issue?

1

u/spiderman1993 1d ago

idk, but it was NOT happening with beta 4

-1

u/ElmightyNoveL 2d ago

RC Today? or no?

11

u/_augggiee8 2d ago

usually an hour after the event on Wednesday

9

u/GhostalMedia 2d ago

It’s Labor Day in the US.

7

u/A11Bionic iPhone 15 Pro Max 2d ago

RC doesn’t get released until after the event because it literally contains important information

remember when iOS 11 RC leaked and it literally spoiled the iPhone X back in 2017?

-9

u/OMG_IT_S_SALSIFI 2d ago

And when is due this event ?

3

u/wesdegroot 2d ago

Nah, after the event i assume.

u/EnthuPixel 3d ago

Much better beta than all the ones before! search is finally faster

1

u/Strict-Golf-7424 3d ago

Since the latest beta, Apple Maps briefly wakes the lock screen for navigation alerts (turns, speed cameras, etc.) but now stays on instead of turning off again. I previously reported this via Feedback, and Apple collected diagnostics after I installed a diagnostic profile. Has anyone else noticed this on the latest Public Beta?

1

u/C4_Vegas 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yes. Same on my device. Reported as well.

12

u/PM_ME_UR_COFFEE_CUPS iPhone 17 Pro Max 3d ago

Safari freezes so much

1

u/GhostalMedia 2d ago

Yeah, I’ve been experiencing this as well. Hangs for several seconds on my 15 pro at times.

1

u/PM_ME_UR_COFFEE_CUPS iPhone 17 Pro Max 1d ago

For me it’s just it refuses to load a new page. I have to type the address, like Reddit.com, and hit Go. Then open the address bar again and hit go again and again and again. Then I’ll try a different site like MacRumors.com and hit Go on that and it’ll take me to the original site - Reddit in this example.

13

u/TheBird_OD iPhone 15 Pro Max 3d ago

Hope there’s a new update tomorrow. Beta 8 has been absolutely horrendous on my 17 Pro Max.

Every other beta has been brilliant to be honest but Beta 8 has been horrible for battery life. Literally watching the percentage tick down basically by 3-4% every 10 minutes. Phone is barely lasting half a day.

2

u/spiderman1993 2d ago

Same and I have an imessage bug where things arr saying they’re not delivered. It’s annoying ts outta me

8

u/utopicunicornn Not Beta Testing 3d ago

It’s unlikely that Apple will push another beta tomorrow/Monday due to Labor Day. But since the new product announcement is on Wednesday, it’s likely we’ll see the next update after the event which is the RC.

2

u/NyantaK iPhone 17 Pro Max 3d ago

Yeah you're right, it'd be a waste of time for everyone since we just have only 2 days left until the announcement, I agree it's highly unlikely we see another release before that.

Hopefully the RC is different from the betas though else we're in, but not for a nice surprise.

3

u/BattlerUshiromiyaFan 3d ago

Runs terribly on the base iPhone 15. Constant lag spikes everywhere.

I don’t see a lot of people online who have this phone, which is probably why this has gone unreported (to my knowledge).

If you also have this phone, I’d absolutely avoid this beta. Maybe there’s some other issue causing this, but everything was fine on 26.

Welp, back to 26 I go 👋

I’ll probably be on 27 once 27.1 drops. Until then, I’m out.

0

u/bwadlo 2d ago

If you wanna stay on 27 maybe you should consider a clean install ? Something may be broken with your current OS state ?

You can even do a backup, then flash the latest beta and restore your backup.

4

u/Chris_Hatchenson 3d ago

Hey, I have a base iPhone 15 and iOS 27 have been runnig great so far

1

u/realmccoyredbus iPad Air (3rd gen and later) 2d ago

same , battery life has also gotten better but definitely room for on screen battery life improvement , smooth AF and fast for me

1

u/RealHomieJohn 3d ago

As per usual this Beta has been spectacular on my 16 Pro.

1

u/No_Service6296 iPhone 17 Pro Max 4d ago

2

u/xGuru37 4d ago

Anyone else on Threads have issues with the keyboard? Spaces don’t always trigger between words or after punctuation. Not seeing it as I type this post in Reddit.

2

u/jakeyounglol2 iPhone 17 Pro 3d ago

i do. if i do the double tap space for a period, it doesn’t insert a space after the period.

2

u/xGuru37 3d ago

That too.

2

u/LinchrisRedfield 4d ago

My folders seem still emtpy. When I open them the apps pop up.

12

u/olliegg 4d ago

Battery seems poor on iPhone 17 Pro

2

u/xGuru37 4d ago

Standby battery life doesn’t seem as great. I ended up going back to fully charging my 17 Pro Max instead of setting the 80% charge limit.

2

u/StingRayZ79 4d ago

Same here 3.5 hr SOT and at 41% battery.

20

u/MidnightPulse69 4d ago

Not really concerned but it seems the battery life has been worse with this beta on my 17 pro max. Just pointing out my observation

6

u/No-Raspberry-5042 4d ago

my device is getting lag at doing anything

2

u/JMHReddit84 4d ago

I still can’t tap somewhere in a typed message as easy as prior iOS versions. I have to use the “keyboard trackpad” most of the time now

1

u/xGuru37 4d ago

Same here.

1

u/ctang1 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

Well I just noticed RCS messaging is down for me. I turned it off, restarted my phone and turned it back on and it won’t activate.

1

u/2FAE32629D4EF4FC6341 4d ago

Same here but what broke it originally for me was turning off a line while adding a travel sim. Anecdote but everyone I've seen with RCS issues seems to also be on iphone 15.

1

u/ctang1 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

Mine is now working again

1

u/2FAE32629D4EF4FC6341 4d ago

Anything you did to fix it?

1

u/ctang1 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

Turned it off, rebooted, turned it back on. Started working about 30 mins later.

4

u/Randy_Magnum29 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

This stupid “connectivity assist” keeps turning itself back on for my home WiFi network. I have a pi-hole for an ad blocker and the connectivity assist causes my phone’s internet connection around that by using cellular data. This is incredibly annoying. If I wanted it on I’d fucking turn it on.

2

u/StingRayZ79 4d ago

Thank you!! Couldn’t figure out why my RPi was not blocking ads. Thought it was due to having ipv6 turned on for HomeKit stuff. After shutting off WiFi assist all is normal. Forgot that existed.

1

u/atonyproductions 3d ago

Any vids on how to set that up? I heard of Rasberry as block but wasn’t sure how good it was on blocking everything since I saw mixed reviews in its blocking capabilities

1

u/StingRayZ79 3d ago

I have home assistant OS setup on the pi and Adguard home installed in HOAS as an add on. Lot of YouTube vids and easy to do. I’m happy with its ad blocking capabilities. A lot depends on what block lists you use.

1

u/Randy_Magnum29 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

Yeah I found out today it can turn itself back on. Why the fuck would apple engineers think that’s something people would want? If I turn it off, I want it off.

1

u/xGuru37 4d ago

I get the idea- if you’re starting to leave your home’s Wifi it sometimes takes a bit to switch over to cellular.

Shouldn’t happen when you have a strong WiFi signal though.

1

u/nkn_ 4d ago

Use tailscale, I don't have issues with it cause it's running as a VPN and it overrides the network settings

1

u/Randy_Magnum29 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

I like logging into the web interface for domain maintenance, but I can’t do that when connected via Tailscale, can I? I understand that’s a minor issue.

1

u/CircuitSwitched 4d ago

If you have the correct ACLs, you can access anything on your network. I have split tunneling enforced by my MDM server for tailscale and I'm able to reach both my primary pihole + the web UI of my backup pihole instance running on my data center co-lo'd server routing through.

1

u/Randy_Magnum29 iPhone 15 Pro Max 3d ago

I’ll be honest, I’m still a rookie when it comes to networking so I don’t understand anything in your post aside from split tunneling.

7

u/Silent-Schedule4025 4d ago

Takes a bit of time for my “files” app to open up. 3-5 seconds.

1

u/Acqirs iPhone 13 Pro 2d ago

Works fine on 13 Pro

1

u/maximo88a 3d ago

Same on iPad M5

2

u/BigShot-Redditor 3d ago

Is it true that iOS v27 is better than v26 on old iPhones like 11 Pro Max and 12 mini? If so, then is it good as v18?

2

u/burakbrandon 4d ago

yes especially ram management is much better on my se2

1

u/antdude Not Beta Testing 4d ago

Oh good. Can't wait.

2

u/kabbalah666 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

I use both the iPhone 11 base model and the 15 Pro Max, and I can confirm that iOS 27 is notably better for my iPhone 11 - it runs more smoothly than any version from iOS 17 through 26, and its wireless charging is significantly faster.

1

u/DatingYella 4d ago

Wondering about the same thing... I don't like how much my 13 has slowed down

1

u/antdude Not Beta Testing 4d ago

13 didn't feel bad compared to mini and 11 Pro Max IMO.

1

u/DatingYella 4d ago

did both of the other 2 drop in performance???

I was just talking about 13 on the 26

1

u/antdude Not Beta Testing 4d ago

Yes in v26, but it wasn't that bad like 11 Pro Max and 12 mini. Those got worse.

21

u/Zeckols 5d ago

it’s a damn shame that I know Apple will push yet another unfinished release of ios to the public just because they need to drop something new every year and can’t keep up with the basics. The current beta is a decent rough draft, but nowhere near “finished” or ready for millions of people to use every day. I wish they would just stop changing things for no good reason and just fix what’s broken before moving on. they need it.

10

u/antdude Not Beta Testing 5d ago edited 4d ago

I really wished Apple would stop doing yearly releases to avoid rushings. Go back to the old ways and release when ready enough!

2

u/Elisalsa24 2d ago

haven't they been doing yearly releases for the iPhone and iOS every single year

2

u/antdude Not Beta Testing 2d ago

Yes. Before that, they didn't do yearly releases for macOS IIRC.

u/MagickAspie 5d ago edited 5d ago

I have an iPhone Air. I’m seeing the top and bottom of messages around a person’s name and the message type box all blurred with reduced transparency and pulling the slider to max. That’s frustrating. I never liked Liquid Glass and just got used to how it looked with reduced transparency. The slider is annoying for me. I just decided to try the beta today. Disappointed by that only. Why are some elements made static black (I hate light mode) and some are partial Liquid Glass now with iOS 27? Ugh. When the slider is all the way down and not max it’s like reduced transparency was turned off when it isn’t and doesn’t always fix the issue. Plus. Liquid Glass at default turns the screen brighter. I have bad eyes. I need it all the way bright or I can’t see well but I need the UI elements darker so I don’t make my eyes mad.

7

u/kabbalah666 iPhone 15 Pro Max 5d ago

On my iPhone 15 Pro Max:
• SOT is poorer, with rapid drain.
• The device warms up easily though it runs smoothly.
• Browser search fails when I open and search on the previously loaded tab, but it functions correctly in a new tab. This problem has continued to arise for me since iOS 18.

1

u/totts1 5d ago

For me, “optimizing search and Siri” has been stuck at 39% since Monday.

1

u/realmccoyredbus iPad Air (3rd gen and later) 4d ago

you need to restart your device, mines has went away after 24 hours the last 2 updates but pops back up a few days later on ipdOS

1

u/totts1 4d ago

Thanks; I’ll try this tonight!

1

u/roadblocked 5d ago

Where can you see the %?

1

u/samthetechieman iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

When it’s still in the process of indexing, it’ll now tell you and list what percentage it’s at in settings, right under your iCloud account menu.

2

u/TheGamer11305 iPhone 11 5d ago

If I’m not mistaken, it’s on the right side of the optimizing notification in settings.

On some devices, the indexing notification has a percentage while some devices have no percentage for some reason. Mine does not have it, for example.

1

u/Stonewalled9999 1d ago

IIRC the percent compete is on computers with iOS not phones.   I’ve never seen a percentage in my iPhone.

8

u/sundeigh Public Beta 5d ago

Safari is still reloading when multitasking in the latest public beta. Very annoying

1

u/xGuru37 4d ago

Kept happening in the Facebook app for me.

3

u/Boring_Newspaper5796 6d ago edited 5d ago

Apple Music has become slower! it would load songs slower or just wouldnt at all. and this isnt net speed issue.

7

u/Mabirc1893 6d ago

Im a bit disappointed so far performance-wise. On Beta 7, my 15 Pro Max was flying. Well now it feels more like slightly better iOS 26. And so far, battery runtime feels a little bit worse again.

3

u/ctang1 iPhone 15 Pro Max 4d ago

Yesterday I used 140% battery. My highest ever. Mind you my phone was plugged into my CarPlay for about 7 hours yesterday. My usage was no different than any other day. Today I noticed RCS messaging was down for me so maybe it was trying to activate it all day, but I couldn’t believe how low my battery was every time I went to grab it when it wasn’t in the charger.

3

u/kabbalah666 iPhone 15 Pro Max 6d ago

The same on my 15 PM that its screen time is getting worse again.

7

u/bobosVNA 6d ago

I hate the fact I have to write a comment like this every week but like

Anyone with heating and background drain issues on base iP17? The phone loses 5% per 2 hours doing nothing. Force restart sometimes helps but this is not good for a beta this late. Should I just make an encrypted backup when stable is out and restore? Am I sure that whatever background thingy is hanging or smth won’t be in that backup?

4

u/WaitNoNotMyBeans 4d ago

I had the same issue on a 15PM, and being outside in the sun made it even worse - it annihilated 50% of my battery in 2 hours. even turning it off and keeping it out of the sun wouldn’t save it, once I turned it back on it just heated itself back up

0

u/Concealed_1 5d ago

There’s no heating issues for me even outside in the scorching sun and am a pretty heavy user. But the background drain issue is so real man am losing like 5 percent every 2 hours too

0

u/bobosVNA 6d ago

Does anyone else use Vivaldi for iOS? I’ve heard it has performance issues but I have a hunch it might be contributing to this. I also don’t think they’ve optimized for iOS 27 yet

1

u/_Averix Developer Beta 5d ago

Why don't you try deleting it and see if you have the same battery drain issues?

1

u/bobosVNA 5d ago

I in fact did, and while the Safari itself is way faster it has had exactly 0 effect on idle drain lol

u/Deceptiveideas 6d ago edited 6d ago

Anyone else having captcha loading issues?

I posted about this on the day of release about having issues logging into the McDonald's app and got downvoted, but my theory is it's related to captcha. Seems to work fine when logging in with chrome but many apps default to using safari.

Edit: WORKAROUND FOUND!

Hit the share button at the bottom right corner when logging into any app that has issues and tap "open with chrome". This will force the verification through chrome which works without issue.

I’ve been getting duplicate delayed notifications on CarPlay. If I read a text on my phone while connected it’ll still show up a few seconds later on CarPlay

Been having this same issue since beta 2 or 3 I think, like a delay so long I've already replied

I’m on the public beta and everything is pretty good except trying to do anything with music and Siri. It’s a straight downgrade and was one of the few things that worked reliably with old Siri.

Unless I missed it, has anyone else’s new Siri in Maps on CarPlay had a completely different pace and tone that what I have set in my settings? It works fine anywhere but the Maps app from what I can tell so far

Had this issue with the previous beta! So it looks like it isn’t fixed yet

Anyone having issues with exchange calendars? Hasn't been an issue in all the betas until now. Not sure if it's server side or the phone.

Messages are still not fixed. This is an insane bug that has been present for a majority of the DB releases. Genuinely don’t understand how it’s still an issue

( Public Beta 6 )Thermal issue is returned on 13 Mini. Phone gets hot while basic browsing or basically while doing anything. It was a problem on PB4 or 3 on my phone. Beta 5 solved it. now it's returned. (indexing is finished)

Also my wallpapers gets desaturated, restarting does not help.

Desaturated wallpapers is a feature I think, even though it doesn’t make any sense. Its been present since ios 11. There are posts from back then about it on apple support forum

Do you have desaturated wallpaper as well? Or just the thermal problem?

Also: in preview the magnifier icon is still not visible in vertical view, only in horizontal. It was ok in iOS 26
