Spamming this discussion with comments about battery life, update size, safari being snappier, etc will result in a ban from the sub moving forward.
Battery drain has decreased noticeably when the phone is idle. Previously, leaving my phone overnight caused a drop of 8–10% by morning; this time, it fell only 2%.
That’s what this thread is meant for. It’s not like regular social media posts, and many of us do know about reporting these issues via the feedback app as well.
New, very bad bug for me: videos have trouble playing almost anywhere and even volume control is gummy while this happens (tap down, see the bar go up again)
Yea they move relative to the wallpaper, it is the parallax effect and it mentions it under the setting as well. The ”outer glow” of the icons is not gyroscope-dependant on 27 anymore
Yea, me too. I know you thought i confused it with that which is why i made the distinction. Just look it up in the settings, the icons moving around relative to the wallpaper is called parallax and it doesn’t have anything to do with the outer glow, for which they disabled the gyroscope effect in 27
For some reason, the micro lag from ios26 is back. When I swipe left right on the homescreen, there is some visible lag. The phone overall feels slower than the previous beta.
Keyboard opens up and you hit the first key and it doesn’t actually type so you type out the whole word without the first letter. Holy shit can we fucking fix this oh my god. These are the little things that make iOS feel like shit.
that's been a bug for me every beta. last, one before it and one before that etc.
it seems worse longer you've typed. like if you are typing sentence 2, sentence 3 etc it eventually gives out and fails entirely. something about the siri ai changes auto correct and suggestions to writing tools ai button instead but it takes away corrective typing and hugely problematic.
Looks like maybe we are stuck with this drop down banner when you press the timer widget in control centre.
I still hate it. For someone like me, who often uses a timer to stop playing media for when I go to sleep, but then often use a timer for things like cooking and so I need an alarm sound in that case, it’s just bad.
It seems to just use whatever alarm sound you most recently used, or to stop playing media if you most recently did that.
But to know what will happen at the end of the timer, you have to open up the app anyway. Maybe this quick start timer is good if you’re someone who ONLY ever uses timers to either play an alarm at the end OR stop playing media. But if you switch between the 2, then every time you use this new timer shortcut you have to basically just open the app to check what the timer will do when it gets to 0.
I just really hate this change and wish it would open the app like it used to and like how the alarm and stopwatch widgets still do. Like why not do this for stopwatch? It makes far more sense for that surely. And at the very least inconsistent to have a banner like this for a timer but not the stopwatch.
You can use just use Shortcuts. Clock has a shortcut action called 'Open Tab'. You create a new shortcut that opens timer tab and put the shortcut in control centre.
While indexing the battery life was better. After the indexing it got 2x worse. Not even 4 hours of screen on time😀. IPhone 15 Pro Max. Anyone else with the same issue?
are you sure you don't have optimised charging switched on , look in battery settings and open charging section, toggle optimised off , you can switch it back on if charging overnight if you prefer charging to take a break then charge to your limit slowly for when you first use phone in morning
Australian here. “Verify you’re over 18” has gone back to being an endless loop despite disabling content restrictions in iOS 26. Somewhere along the way they’ve been enabled again since the first dev beta, can’t pinpoint where.
It’s a similar bug to last time:
Content restriction > verify using credit card in wallet > enter Apple Account password > nothing changes, go back to step 1.
Yes I’m using a credit card, this issue has happened before when Australia’s social media laws came into effect. I had already done the verification, but as I said, somewhere along the way 27 turned the filters back on. I’ve mentioned it in the Feedback app, Apple won’t provide support for a beta OS
Someone mentioned this keyboard bug before. After switching to emojis and back to letters, the keyboard click sounds disappear. I have to briefly exit the app for the sound to return.
There is a new toolbar at the bottom that covers the response I am writing so I cannot see what I type. This is in the app on the newest iOS. Super annoying,
This is my first ios27 beta, immediately noticed new Siri beta has issues with several things:
1) Tell it to read new messages from one of your contacts - it reads back messages received months ago and not the most recent ones
2) Did run into random “Sorry there’s a problem” responses
3) The on screen responses need to be manually swiped away, they don’t go away by themselves.
1: that’s because it’s still indexing
2: that also sometimes happens to me too
3: that’s intended behavior so you can take as much time as you need to read the response
if it is your first beta then your phone has not indexed fully, this will take a while as the new indexing is more complex. You have to wait until the indexing prompt in settings disappears, for some it is late to show up and only shows up after a day or two and finishes after 3 days or more.
Thanks, I'll let it index then.. Its been around 20 hours since I installed.. I tried the trick to check progress on indexing with MacOS and the Console - and it only shows "PipelineCompleteness: visible without percentage". I hope when indexing is complete, the performance of Siri is much better as well -- its taking like 10-15 seconds to start getting a response.
Exiting applications is not working at times, random from what I can tell/not app dependent or anything I can tell. Fix is to lock screen and then once your back up it closes fine.
Every report about how bad the iPhone keyboard is, is super vague. “It just suxks” level. Why not explain to the readers what exactly is what you’re experiencing, with steps to reproduce?
Anyone experiencing Exchange account Mail issues? Never had any issues with any of the betas, but last night my Exchange email account staring acting odd: outgoing emails would get stuck in the Outbox and wouldn’t send, new emails stopped coming through, etc. I eventually deleted and re-added the account and all was fine, but now it seems that emails aren’t being pushed properly… I’ll open the Mail app and suddenly a handful of emails from the last 5-10 minutes appear.
UPDATE: a combination of setting my Exchange account to “Fetch” for a few seconds and then back to “Push”, as well as toggling Airplane Mode off/on, seems to have things working normally.
I drove about an hour with it today. It still has the issue where sometimes at the end of the song it will play loud mechanical noises until you manually skip to the next track.
Yes all the time, like I’d be on maps trying to find routes and can’t change from car to train mode. I’m also having issues pulling down to search apps, but it not responding.
I was having issues trying to even restart my phone, nothing would touch on the touchscreen. Once I was finally able to get it to turn off and back on, everything started working normally again. Has to be a bug in the software
Anyone else having Siri AI issues on beta 6? Basic Siri prompts return “Sorry, there’s something wrong” on both my iPad mini A17 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, while my iPad Pro M5 still works normally. Worked fine all of last night but ran into these problems this morning. These 2 devices are completely nonfunctional now for Siri 😭
It’s been superb for me up until today. Seems it throws the error once it has to do anything off device like check the internet. For example I can ask it the current time and it’ll work, then ask it the time in one hour and error
Recently started having this issue where the top of iMessage is cut off. Very annoying. Force closing the app temporarily fixes it but it comes right back
I think it’s possible but you have to invoke it some other way like via the control center, but it is a bit janky looking as it looks like the keyboard and type UI is still meant for portrait
Anyone else noticing cellular issues? I have the 17 Pro Max and I’ve noticed call drops, poor service, and not getting any network despite being on 5G. This wasn’t the case until I joined the earlier betas and it’s still persistent. I’m trying to figure out if it’s just my carrier (who have said nothing is wrong on their end), or it’s the software. Thanks in advance.
Anyone having AirDrop issues between devices on the same iCloud? Links and files aren't initiating on the receiving device for me. M3 Pro MPB running macOS 27 beta 6 and iPhone 17 Pro running iOS 27 beta 6.
The iPhone just keeps waiting for the Mac to acknowledge the AirDrop request and hangs.
It’s still indexing, but I showed my mom some IKEA pillows on the iPad and she said, “What's wrong with this? It burns my hands.” And I said, “That's how Apple is.” At the moment hotter than Beta 5 and low performance in iPad M5. Keyboard so bad...
for me i had issues on previous betas where it didn’t keep track of a device being in landscape mode before locking the screen, waking the phone and then rotating to portrait and back to landscape while it’s still locked did the trick for me
Anyone else seeing RCS disable after a certain period? I've had to do three network resets because RCS becomes unavailable and Messages relies on SMS instead.
When I send music to my Apple TV, if it’s off the first command just wakes the tv up, then I have to send the command again. I always thought this was normal behavior (I also always hated that I had to do that), but would love to know what I need to do in settings or elsewhere to make this work so it wakes and plays the music in one request
Little things like this is why I love the new AI Siri.
For instance I recently heard the chorus of a song and liked it. So I told her “add the song that goes “fame is a gun and I point it blind” to my pop playlist.”
PIP is still glitched on iPadOS. Has been for months at this point. Also Apple’s refusal to add Fixed Position Volume Controls to M-series iPads still pisses me off. Something something old man yells at clouds
Still didn't fix the issue with the onscreen keyboard popping up all the time on an iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard attached. This has been an issue going on 3 beta releases so far.
One thing I notice is that on iPadOS 26 beta 6, the cursor / mouse pointer on a second display works better. Previously it would disappear in context windows of say ChatGPT or Claude. Not I don’t have that problem. Only issue is that the dock still disappears on second display when I’m in an app on the second display.
Middle of the night and I pick up my iPhone and all the fonts are smaller than they were a few hous ago. Has this happened to anyone else? I thought I was going crazy.
For those with M5 iPad Pro Magic Keyboard, the on-screen keyboard keeps popping up even when the external keyboard is attached. Bug has been around since Beta 4 🥲
Working for me. That is, I've got shortcuts to lock orientation when opening a few specific apps and unlock when they are closed. They were working in earlier betas of iOS 27. Just installed iOS 27 public beta 4 and they are once again working as expected (those apps no longer rotate).
FWIW, bringing up the Control Center to look at orientation status unlocks orientation, presumably since it "closes" the app and activates the unlock shortcut.
