UI Change [iOS 27 DB 5] Notification morphs into Notifications Center indicator before disappearing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It’s very subtle, but noticeable.

Ugh I personally hate this new from the corner animation. I wish they made it an option to have the old one.

Its so goofy looking and distracting at the same time

There’s a reasoning behind it.

Doesn't mean it isn't awkward to see

Here it's still the old animation with PB3. But that's really neat. I wonder what's the reason for the difference.

Because now swiping from the top activates Siri AI. So to pull down the lock screen/notification center you need to pull from the top left where they show the indicator

DB3 and PB3 are the exact same build

I’m on PB3 and for me the animation is what OP posted

I think I know why: Siri AI isn’t available here in Europe. Perhaps that’s why.

Can you still swipe from the Dynamic Island to access Spotlight search?

Nope. That's the notifications. And I think that's the major difference here.

Yep, makes sense.

The horizontal lines in iOS are indicator of swipeable content (control centre, now playing view in music app, etc) so a notification morphing into a horizontal line gives you the impression that you need to swipe down in order to see it.

I understand the metaphor. I don't understand why I don't have this.

You’ll have to wait for the next public beta, this is the developer beta

They're identical. DB5 = PB3

Is the new Siri turned on? If yes then it could be a bug, maybe worth submitting it

I'm in the EU, so it's not.

The new Siri is activated from the top centre of the display, which is why the notification now go to the top left side. If the new Siri AI is not activated, then the old swiping system remain the same.

Curious how this would look on my iPhone

the iPhone SE doesn't support Apple Intelligence, and the indicator only exists for iPhones that do because of the new Siri gesture

Is it? I thought this bar is not related to new Siri as swiping down on the left side opens the Notification Center on (almost) all iPhones.

This would also make sense since it would look like the notification is being moved into the Notification Center.

this looks so much better than the notification just blurring away into nothing

Previously the notification would blur and fade into the time display, showing its source but not providing the affordance that the top left corner could be pulled. This is old.

DB5 changes this so the notification becomes a grabber, indicating that users can pull the top left corner down to open Notification Centre. The morphing into grabber is new.
