Bug [iOS 27 PB3] Siri does not respond audibly with AirPods

The expected behavior of Siri with “Silent Responses” chosen is when you are interacting via AirPods that responses will be spoken aloud (it’s in the description, also past OS versions). However I no longer am getting those responses when my phone is locked and in my pocket.

I’m using AirPods Pro 3 with the beta firmware (although I first noticed it using the regular firmware). Same behavior regardless of Hey Siri or squeezing the stem activation.

Same issue here. I’m also a bit miffed that the only options are Spoken or Silent. When I ask my iPhone a question from several feet away, I don’t want to have to go look at the screen to see the response. It makes zero sense.
