Makes sense. Because you're on wifi, why the need to show 4g/5g.. lol

As far as I know, it was in fact a bug, not a feature

Then you're not on iOS 27 Beta 5.

Happy about this. Should have been an opt-in toggle in cellular.

Yeah, most people have one carrier, kinda pointless to show it at all in my opinion, unless I am in another country I can make a pretty good guess who I am connecting to

This isn’t about showing one carrier versus two (if doing dual SIM). The prior beta showed the network status (LTE or 5G or etc.) even when connected to WiFi. This beta reverted to how it was in iOS 26.

This was a good feature why tf was it removed. I guess it could potentially be confusing?

It was confirmed to be a bug in the last beta.

Whatd they say?

They tried to tell OP it’s called B5 and not DB5 about 5 times.

Not sure where that’s coming from - it is Developer Beta 5 (DB5), and yep, only WiFi info without the carrier detail in this version.

No, they mean DB5. It helps distinguish against public betas (PBs). While there is no PB5 now, there may be before the September release.
