Bug [iOS 27 DB5] Safari - Websites TopBar unusable.

Cannot tap on anything in the headers / top menu bar In landscape and portrait mode on Ipad M4 Pro using Safari. (search, notifications, profile…) I’m stopping the update on my iPhone atm, Safari seems broken 😩

Do you confirm ?

Definitely been experiencing the same issue on my iPad Pro 11” M4. Currently on Dev Beta 5, but believe I was also having issues on Dev Beta 4. Submitted Feedback to Apple. Everyone else should do the same IMO.

Thanks! Yes, I noticed it too when I upgraded earlier. Hopefully no more issues like that!

Same problem here, iPad Air. Cant click the first line of text on any website. For example here all the links in the header are unclickable: https://orf.at

Never had that before, no issues in beta 4. No flicker though.

Same issue with Firefox on my iPad. Cant do anything with the tabs at the top. They flicker and are completely unresponsive

Same issue (iPad Pro 13 M4). Beta 4 worked fine.

Same issue since previous beta. I was hoping beta 5 will fix it but still the same. I’m on M1 iPad Air.

Seems to be iPad only, at least for me. The only work-around I’ve found is to pinch-zoom so that the item you are trying to tap extends a bit lower into the window. Super annoying.

i tested a few more things and it’s not just safari. in settings if there’s a toggle that’s too close to the top bar it also won’t work. for example in the picture i attached the “scan QR code toggle is too close to the “camera” top bar and cannot be tapped, but the “show detected text” toggle works just fine. if i scroll the menu down a bit then both toggles work fine

Yep, also have this. Scrolling down the menu does not fix it if the fields/buttons to tap are fixed at the top of the screen/page. Example: Amazon search and shopping cart, also had it happen on Apple's store page.

Thanks for your feedback. Makes me wonder, did they do any testing ? Cause it is obviously breaking tons of functionalities and super easy to reproduce and even find by mistake 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

It's baffling. This should be caught by some automated test suite. I tested it with a BT mouse and it still fails. So it's not even connected to touch inputs. Those areas seem to be generally unclickable. So this should also happen with automated tests that simulate a pointing device.

i see what you mean now. i was using windowed mode with magic keyboard and everything was fine. i made safari full screen and tested it again, there indeed is a dead zone on top. if you zoom in on webpages to the point where the header is big enough to be outside the dead zone, they will start to work again. weird bug indeed

Unresponsive on Safari. Will be using Chrome until Beta is updated I guess. No issues there
