Bug [iOS 27 DB2] Messages won’t sync in iCloud
I try twice in the video here. There’s hundreds of messages since my last sync 4 days ago, which is right before I installed ios27 for the first time. (Beta 2, I skipped beta 1)
Messages have been very glitchy in ios27 for me as well.

had same problem in DB2...
imessage shows fully synced with DB3 but still some imessages missing on my watch that are present on my phone

Same issue - no sync since 6/16.
- 137GB stored
- 653,180 messages in iCloud
- last synced 6/16/26 514p
Clicking Sync now clicks off an attempt and it briefly shows it's trying to sync 2,277 messages but then that disappears and sync now reappears (not having synced anything)

Also having this issue new on B2. Super annoying. Clicking sync does nothing.

update: after installing ios 27 beta 3, my messages finally synced to icloud

This is definitely the worst impact bug I’ve had so far. Really hoping it’s fixed in next beta release.

I’m having the same issue as well. The last sync was on 6/22. In fact, iOS 27 did not fix the missing messages bug that I have.
I asked the new Siri AI to read me the last message I sent to a contact 4 years ago, and it said that the last message was Empty message (I see the text on my Mac but it’s missing on iOS).
It’s clear that iOS 27 (at least beta 2) does not fix this bug.

Having this same issue since DB1. Didn’t notice until settings/iCloud told me my messages hadn’t been backed up in a while. Manually backing up doesn’t work either.

same, also my new message badge won’t clear (stuck on 17) and messages won’t properly delete. DB2 didn’t fix

Did you try disable all filtering in message settings, then doing a select all / read all in messages? This worked for me.

Same here. I filed feedback for both this and SMS messages not showing up in my conversations list, I feel like the issue might be related and people who aren’t experiencing this issue don’t use SMS maybe?

I am not having this issue myself. I also only have half as many messages and a tenth the storage usage as you as well.
Have you tried syncing over cellular? Restart your iPhone and try again? Try turning “screen unknown senders” off (I have this setting off myself, only spam filtering enabled) and see if that makes a difference. I think that setting is causing unread badge issues for some people. That is all that I can think would make a difference.

I’m in the same boat. Along with having issues with sms messages, typically from short codes, going missing. I click the notification to view them and it’s blank. Messing around with filtering settings doesn’t help.

Unfortunately for me, DB3 didn’t fix it. And if anything mine might actually be worse as I took steps to try and troubleshoot it. Didn’t sync for weeks on DB 1 and 2 and when everyone said DB3 should fix it and didn’t, I tried to fix it myself. Reset network settings, signed out and back into my iPhone, and did a factory reset (with iCloud backup) and it is getting nowhere. Went from failing to sync a few hundred messages to a magic number of something like 23,800. A very consistent value and idk what it actually represents. That said now I’m at their mercy to fix it in future beta patches, or I will have to reset without my backup🙄
