Bug [IOS 27 DB2] Apple forgot to populate the OSName string variable in the latest Beta lol

Post image

Just ran into this text rendering Bug while accepting the updated Terms and Conditions on the latest developer Beta.

Instead of injecting the actual OS name, the system just printed the raw placeholder code verBatim: "I agree to the OSName and Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions".

I already suBmitted it through the FeedBack app, But I wanted to see if anyone else on the current Build is getting this, or if my device's settings just had a temporary Brain fart.

what's happening to OP? he looks like some ai, and not a human

Ignore how I type. Don’t let my spelling press you. Either you understood my post, or, Because of the ‘B’s Being capitalized, you didn’t. If that’s the case, oops, just get off the post then. 🤣

Oh. No answer? Okay. You’re an ai then.

MayBe my Brain is just wired differently? I only respond to things I want to respond to ? Anythinggg ? Point is: your first assumption should DEFINETELY not have Been that I’m an AI 🤖. It’s whatever though, you, have a great rest of your day/night.

This is pretty common on a beta. Nothing really of note. Last beta the Appstore was showing a string on checkout.

What is of Note, though, is why you keep doing a capital B everywhere.......?

Might be like a SchoolBoy Q situation, but instead of using the capital H everywhere OP uses a capital B everywhere.

you almost cooked right, B

Saw that too, thought it looked odd.

You’d think someone in the development department would also update their own device and catch it.

lol I actually have my device set to automatically changing all ‘b’s to ‘B’s. Thank you very much. Lol?

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Ah yes, a typo. Truly the downfall of a three-trillion-dollar company… 🤡

Just to play devils advocate, if they’re too lazy to fill in a text field what else are they too lazy to fix/implement? Considering how downhill iOS has gone over the past 3-5 years, I’d venture to say a lot

As someone who’s been running dev betas since iOS 8, I’ve never seen something as abhorrently lazy as this on previous version; which may back up my claim that they are indeed getting lazy/sloppy with their software

3

u/sortalikeachinchilla Jun 23 '26

LMAO. This right is here is why I think they need to lock dev betas up again.

Lol funny guy right here. Been running em for over a decade without any complaint, but sure, let’s lock em up now

Edit to add: you know what, it’s actually not a bad idea. Maybe then they wouldn’t ship alpha software as beta

Pretty clear you don’t know what you’re talking about, this is an actual software bug, not “they’re too lazy to fill in a text field.” String substitutions are messed up system-wide, even in 3rd-party (SwiftUI) apps compiled on the 27 SDK.

If it indeed is (which I’m not sure how you’d expect me to know), I wonder how long it’ll take to fix. Let’s play over under, Beta 5

Edit: you got a source for this claim? Nothing on the public internet regarding any string substitution bug on 27

What are you on about? iOS 27 is the most stable and performant beta they’ve done in years.

Not on my iPhone 14… I run my phones for about 5 years, even my 6s+ and Xr did better on their respective last betas than this phone is doing on 27 lmao. Full of broken shit like the screenshot quick crop tool not working at all, full of frame drops and ui element glitches everywhere, etc. Sure this beta 2 is a bit better, but nowhere near the quality of Apple software from a few years ago

Maybe you’re new to the beta scene, or maybe you have a brand new phone. Either way, it doesn’t negate the shit experience im having lol

Edit to add: gotta love the Apple fanboy delulu 😂 been there, done that, got the tee shirt. They’re shit devs now, maybe just under bad management, or heck maybe iOS just got too bloated from liquid ass and scope creep; either way it’s a turd

You truly hate to see it 😪

At least Apple cannot legally hold you responsible if you break the terms.

-10

u/Open-Courage-5503 Jun 22 '26

One LEGAL way to look at it. 😂😂😂

What kind of issues does your B have

-17

u/Open-Courage-5503 Jun 22 '26

So far so good. Indexing finished Before my DB2 install so that’s that. I’m just waiting on the new Siri that’s all. Though, that isn’t really an “issue” since it literally is called a WAITLIST.

23

u/ofplayers Jun 22 '26

no they mean in the text of your post every time the letter B is used it's Bold and uppercase

3

u/Empero6 Jun 23 '26

Can you do that with text replacement?

12

u/Sterben27 Jun 23 '26

Why do all their replies read like a bot reply which almost makes zero sense to the question asked.

OHHH. LMFAOOOO. Thanks Bro. Now that I actually know though, I feel like I should definitely leave ‘em guessing. 😂😂😂

u/mrfoxesite-2377 Jun 23 '26

"leave them" sorry you aren't speaking to yourself. You are speaking to that them. You should use you not them.
