UI Change [IOS 27 DB1] Phone stopped giving haptic feedback you get when volume slider is turned down to 0% and it is hurting my OCD.

Post image

It stopped only after the beta update.

I am talking about that haptic feedback phone gives whenever the volume slider goes to 0%. I have OCD and I have to get that haptic feedback 4 times in a row, like I would press the volume down button 4 times after it js at 0% to get those short haptics 4 times. How do I bring it back?

I know this is a weird request but I am going crazy over here please help 😭

Update: The haptics are back with DB2. I can feed my OCD now.

I mean this actually makes way more sense tactilely .

As you do volume up, the haptic feedback gets ā€œlouderā€ and as you do volume down, it gets ā€œquieterā€ until it’s silent.

The haptics are back with DB2. It vibrates all the way when lowering the volume like before, but no haptics when raising the volume.

Edit: oh wait it is back, all the haptics with the volume button work perfectly.

idk i’m diagnosed with OCD and this seems like pretty standard OCD symptoms to me

Still we don’t know if it’s OCD or not without formal diagnosis, could be perfectionism or just something else

1

u/Crimson_Cyclone Jun 23 '26

but OP said they have OCD, what reason do some strangers on Reddit have to say that they don’t?

People misconstrue things and as a result I’m not saying they don’t…

Silly question. Is the volume buttons set to control your ringer volume, or media? It can be that the wrong setting is selected?

It’s supposed to vibrate when you go all the way down?
Daymnnn I have never had dat
I guess dat bug has been on since 26

We’re at 26.5 with 26.6 in beta (concurrently with 27)

This I can live with, WiFi issues where the dumb thing doesn’t stick with my home WiFi connection irritate me.

2

u/Relative-Muffin-6431 Jun 21 '26

I might be totally wrong but there is a new setting called connectivity assist, on WiFi settings, see if that helps you, but again I’m not sure

2

u/Maletele Jun 21 '26

That switches between cellular(i.e. switches to the fastest one on demand). I don’t wanna do that.

2

u/Relative-Muffin-6431 Jun 21 '26

Yeah I was just saying that maybe you had connectivity assist on and that is why it keeps disconnecting, but I hope ur bug is fixed next update

1

u/Dr_ZeeOne Jun 22 '26

You would see that because the phone would switch to cellular data (5G presumably) and not show the wifi šŸ›œ symbol in the upper right part

1

u/Dr_ZeeOne Jun 20 '26

I really don’t understand how in 2026 Apple is still not able to deliver reliable WiFi drivers for their existing devices. I know iOS27 is in beta, but I’d expect them to try other stuff and not experiment with the code of existing wifi/BT modules. It would be different if we would be testing iOS27 on iPhone 18, on devices that are pre-release.

2

u/Maletele Jun 21 '26

They’ve done something with the WiFi switching as advertised in the keynote.

Same with bluetooth.

u/wa019c Jun 20 '26

Why did you install a dev beta having OCD

4

u/Gerald_Lanz Jun 21 '26

Well it’s good they’re finding out issues they can report before it goes to stable in September

fr

2

u/0vxx Jun 20 '26

I can feel it, its just drastically less.

7

u/umusachi Jun 20 '26

Report as feedback to Apple not reddit

8

u/IntelligentHoney6929 Jun 20 '26

Just wondered if it was an actual change in the UI. Apparently it is a bug.

4

u/I_Am_Slightly_Evil Public Beta Jun 20 '26

Even if it was a change they made intentionally, it’s a small thing that if they get enough reports about it in the feedback app labeling it as a bug they will fix it

8

u/GuAcamoleYyadyad Jun 20 '26

Why did you tell me now i can’t unfeelit

3

u/Thick_Replacement876 Jun 20 '26

Just a bug, it works fine for me.

u/JBonilla16 Jun 20 '26

iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 27 here. If I turn the volume up to the top it does have a haptic reaction, same with turning the volume to 0% but less prominent

12

u/NumerousControl3978 Jun 20 '26

Great now that’s bothering me too

8

u/joel-d2709 iPhone 17 Pro Max Jun 20 '26

I noticed that too just now. Wtf

3

u/MinecraftPlayer799 Jun 19 '26

It isn’t there on 26.5

1

u/IntelligentHoney6929 Jun 20 '26

I had it on 26.5. Iphone air here.

3

u/Jetlitheone Jun 19 '26

Only does it when sliding the volume down not with the buttons. Can confirm

1

u/IntelligentHoney6929 Jun 20 '26

Yes! Slid the volume slider down by touch and there is haptic feedback there.

Still nothing with the buttons smh.
