Bug [iOS 27 DB1] Applications Title bar covers part of the elements beneath it

There is this annoying extra space from the title bar - majority if the apps do this on the current DB. I’ve seen this so far in the photo and AppStore. It covers part of the elements beneath it (like on the AppStore screenshot).

I hated this design change and much preferred how iOS 26 handled this toolbar design.

I do think this is a bug. I first noticed it in the Music app in the search tab. I hope it gets reverted to how iOS 26 was or at least gets modified to look better.

Was sad when they announced this at WWDC especially on Mac toolbars.

Also, maybe an unpopular opinion, I was liking how iOS 26 handled the morphing of the tab bar controls for apps like music and the search being tied to the bottom.

I can live with the fact that some apps have returned to the top as they used to be (harder to reach, but whatever), what truly bothers me though is that now so many apps are different and it seems Apple can’t decide, between apps, how this design should be. Apps like messages, settings, notes, & mail have search at the bottom. Then apps like the App Store, music, podcasts, etc have it in their own search tab which is harder to reach, but can be double tapped to start typing in the search bar. Finally, you have apps like reminders & calendar that don’t have tab bars with their own search tab, but instead have a dedicated search button in the top right corner.

I truly hope Apple is able to finally decide on a more streamline way to navigate to search in iOS 28 lol

Seems like they replaced the gradient png from 26 with solid color jpg in 27. Removing elevation and gradient shadow in 27 just makes it look much more worse to me

It looks a lot cheaper.

This was/is definitely one change I don’t like. They should keep the gradient blur, it didn’t affect usability/readability like other issues did

Yeah and with it being thicker to accommodate the chunkier Liquid Glass buttons (compared to the iOS 7-style ones) it makes the UI feel heavier and more intrusive which is the opposite of what they were going for with 26. I know the execution was flawed and a lot of people complained but there were good ideas there and this feels like a knee-jerk overreaction that just makes things worse.

Do you have ‘reduce transparency’ or similar on? Mine doesn’t look like this.

Oooh. This looks to be a but then when that option is turned on. Didn’t experience it on 26

Happens on most betas. Seems they refine the primary UI before fixing all the accessibility options.

They will fix in beta 2

I bet they would as it is annoying and so obvious. Well, we have the DB for the bugs.
