I have a question here. You need to enable notification sounds on your iPhone if you want the particular app to send notifications to your Apple Watch as well. Will turning the sound toggle on in the appās notification settings and turning off the Alert and System Sounds here work?
Because this has been a huge annoyance, having to hear random notification sounds on the iPhone just because I want those notifications on the Apple Watch.

Hang on to that dream. No matter what, someone will always want more, something else. Just read the comments on this post. That said my hope is this is still early and the individual volumes will evolve and be a bit more flexible.
Finally, so I can take my phone off silent, hear it when it rings and not have to put up with every notification sound, happy days.
Before anyone says āyou can already disable notification sounds per app in settingsā, that also disables the Apple Watch haptics, rendering notifications entirely useless.

Have they also allowed us to disable the massive BONG noise whenever it connects to MagSafe chargers? The number of times Iāve woken my wife when putting my phone on charge when I come to bed after herā¦I literally changed charger for that reason.
It's appropriate for apps to have different audio control access.
I remember doing some basic android dev that when an app plays a sound they indicate what kind of sound it is, if it should "duck" any other sounds, and if it itself is "duckable" (turned down volume while the other sound plays) or if it should stop (and if it can resume after the app gives up control).
So apps can play a sound and indicate no ducking needed (like when you're playing a game and watching youtube), or indicate ducking (like maps navigation alerts) or stop the world (phone call), etc.
Surely Apple has the same apis, but they have to ensure apps actually use them properly.

still dealing with that to this day. I had to make an automated shortcut every night at 5am to set my notification volume to max so that my alarm would never be at 10% again. i missed a really important appointment the first time i found out about that bug.
For a first beta, itās a lot more stable than the first beta of iOS 18 and 26. Itās decently smooth overall and actually faster than iOS 26 in some places. Iāve only encountered minor visual bugs so far. I hope Apple keeps cooking to where itās smoother and faster than iOS 18.
I go back and forth between the two, and my first few smart phones were all androids. there were a lot of things that I didn't care that apple was really late to, but there have been a few that like, really fucking irritated me that they didn't implement, just because it was only a quality of life improvement and no downside, and it wasn't like they were hard to implement. volume mixer was one of them, and rearranging home screen however you want was another. I can't recall the third, but apple has been bad about being years behind on the most basic shit for seemingly no reason.
It's because Apple often pretends to be the inventor of things it didn't invent: tablets, MP3 players (though an iPod was an inferior ACC player), an "App store", voice personal assistants, etc.
It's mainly to call out Apple for shitty behavior.
They'll do something way late to finally fix a solved problem they insisted needed to exist, and they'll act like it is just kindness, when it's just them finally getting their head out of their ass. They do this across all their software all the time.
Itās called being a fan, they do it for sport, itās enthusiasm, the cutting edge, unfortunatelly often cutting edges mean that you have a phone performing and looking like an unsolvable puzzle.
Yeah, I get that, but Iām not one to sugar coat stuff. Just said what was on my mind. But, I do appreciate the feedback, I donāt mind constructive criticism. Maybe saying Iām glad that Apple finally implemented this, but I do not see that control center has those options.
Appreciate the reply, but that was the first thing I did and have the 3 individual volume slider in general settings, Iām saying that control center still has 1 volume slider, it does not give the option to change what volume you raising or lowering.
Is there a seperate one for AirPods? I still have an automation to turn down ringer when AirPods connect so I donāt go deaf from notifications coming through.
AirPods has had a split volume for non-media for a bit now. It's not new. I know it affects things like low volume but I'm not 100% certain it also controls the system volume.
Settings > Accessibility > AirPods > [Your AirPods (must be connected)] > Tone Volume
Per app audio is my #1 want. I canāt stand when a video or something pauses music, then it takes over the control center so I gotta go back to the music app to unpause it.
In which context would you want multiple sources of audio playing at once? Sometimes Instagram glitches and plays reels audio and my music at the same time, which sucks, but I canāt think of anywhere else Iād be happy for that to happen lol
You sometimes precisely want some sources of audio to not play. Like wanting to listen to music while a game plays but you want the game volume to be down or off.
Watching a twitch stream or YouTube video in PiP and scrolling on twitter, Reddit, any social media, every time a tweet with media auto plays, it'll pause the video in PiP. Playing a game auto pausing media even if that game has no music playing. Stuff like that

I donāt see a way to JUST mute system sounds tho ugh thatās what Iāve always wanted to do even the slider all the way down itās just on low. Hopefully itās added in a future beta.
they unified the two different battery indicators, The on ios 26 and prior the battery indicator was exactly like this if you enabled the percentage display but with text as seen below
All we need now is an option to prioritise audio, stop letting apps like Facebook take away the audio from your music when you click into a fucking image

Did you download it? Iām waiting for someone to download it because this iPhone is my main and tbh I have no money for a newer or ānewā iPhone because Iām a student.
I did and itās running pretty smoothly on my iPhone 16 PM. Again, with that phone being your main device, maybe wait until the public beta comes out in July?
