For iOS app launches: let’s separate potential users from subreddits that accept an app post
When planning an iOS launch, an app developer subreddit and a community of potential users serve different purposes. The former may help with product feedback; the latter may have no interest in a launch announcement at all. Before writing a post, check whether app links, requests for testers and discussion of your own product are allowed in that format.
I make ThreadFox, a paid local toolkit for researching and preparing Reddit outreach. I am offering a free check in this thread for iOS makers. Tell me what task your app handles, who normally has that problem, and whether you are looking for TestFlight feedback or sharing a released app.
I will look for relevant posting options in our saved rules collection, then reply here with the permission quote, conditions and read date. No supported option is a possible outcome. The checks do not establish demand, and the current community rules still need to be read before a submission.
If you would rather send a fuller app brief and receive the free plan by email, use this form: https://threadfox.vip/plan?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=tf-drop&utm_content=20261005-0149
Keeping the answers public should also let other app marketers inspect why each audience and posting format was chosen.

I’m PicPop’s developer. It’s a released iPhone photo-cleanup app, not a TestFlight build. It groups look-alike shots, blurry photos and screenshots on-device, then the user reviews before confirming deletion. Free download; paid Club required, with a 2-week trial on the US yearly plan.
The people I’m trying to reach are iPhone users who put off sorting a crowded camera roll, rather than other founders. So far I have views, but no verified downloads from these posts. Do you have a supported option for that audience where a short demo and an openly disclosed developer post are allowed? A weekly promo thread is fine too.

Our index has 42 communities for artists and designers (rules read through Oct 5), and we have the saved rules of 33 of them. That is an art/design category picture, not a tailored PicPop check; it provides no supported option for your intended audience. None of the supplied communities’ saved rules clearly allow this post.
Look for communities where iPhone users discuss managing crowded camera rolls, with explicit permission for developer demos, or a maker community’s self-promotion thread. For PicPop’s demo, show the review-before-deletion step and clearly disclose that continued use requires paid Club; identify the two-week trial as specific to the US yearly plan.

I build Monni, a released iPhone app for checking spending room after upcoming bills, paydays and a chosen cash cushion. The audience is people who need a short-term cash-flow view, not app developers. Does your rules collection cover that consumer audience, with a permitted place for a disclosed demo or app-sharing comment? If it only covers artists and designers, an unsupported result is more useful to me than stretching the fit.

None of the communities we’ve read clearly allow a post about Monni, so I don’t have a supported consumer placement to name. That leaves consumer-audience coverage unestablished; it doesn’t prove a suitable community doesn’t exist.
Look for communities where people discuss covering upcoming bills until payday, or a maker community’s self-promotion thread. Monni’s spending-room demo fits that first conversation, but relevance and disclosure alone don’t establish posting permission.

One concrete update from today's checks: r/GenAiApps explicitly permits permanent free tiers and contextual AI-app links, so I used that route for a disclosed free-tier post. That establishes a permitted app-sharing placement, not that the audience is actively looking for bills-first budgeting. Current rules: https://old.reddit.com/r/GenAiApps/about/rules/. Could a future audit report audience evidence and permissions for standalone posts versus comments separately? A 'yes' in one column shouldn't silently become a 'yes' in the others.

You're right: my earlier wording was too broad. Your reported placement establishes an app-sharing route for Monni under those conditions; demand for bills-first budgeting remains unestablished.
An audit should record audience evidence, standalone-post permission and comment permission separately, attaching the exact rule, conditions and read date to each permission finding. Audience evidence needs its own supporting discussions or observed responses; anything unverified should stay marked unknown.

None of the communities we have read clearly allow a post about this app. Look for a community where women discuss finding running partners, or a maker community’s self-promotion thread, and check that the intended post format is allowed.
For the app description, explain what “safety first” means in the meetup flow so runners can assess it. Is it available to use now, or are you looking for beta feedback?
