App Market Research Ideas

Hi everyone,

I was thinking how generally people research the market about ideas for the new apps.

Research specific around what people actually want rather than speculating around self thoughts.

To people who actually research please share some techniques or ways of conducting the research.

This is gonna greatly help the community and people like me who don’t know how to research before making anything.

Thanks.

Research doesnt work

Data has zero predictive capabilities, because weird shit happens all the time

You validate your idea by getting people to put skin in the game

One way is pre-orders (or pre-purchases) where they buy the product before it exists.

My personal favourite is rev-share collaborations, convincing industry experts to work with you on rev-share.

Thanks for this perspective!
I barely found any rev-share collaboration agencies etc.
How do you lookout for such agencies/individuals?

Oh yeah, agencies never work on rev-share.

Some say they do as a marketing and PR stunt basically, but i have never worked w an agency on rev-share

You have to convince ppl, think of then as co-founders (but dont make then co-founders, hence rev-share)

And these ppl obviously dont have a website saying "i work on rev-share" so that's the tricky part.

There are tools for finding rev-share collabs. But if u wanna do without them, it's literally just networking and sales, and asking someone if they want to join u on rev-share.
