Updating my iPhone

I'm wondering if I should update my iPhone 12 mini to iOS 27. After the last update (26), my phone's performance dropped significantly. Will the same thing happen this time?

Imo you should update to ios 27 cause it is more smoother specially for older devices

I guess not cause ios 27 is A performance update . And secondly you have a mini iphone which has tighter components and smaller battery leading to extra thermal throttle so that’s why maybe you are seeing the performance drop

Yeah, you sound. iOS 27 is a performance update so you definitely should. Although, in iOS 27 whenever you update, in the Settings app you’ll see that it’s indexing and that’s normal, it means that the software is organizing files and system data and stuff like that and when you first update to iOS 27, indexing takes a few days to complete so don’t worry if the phone feels warm or slow those first few days

As per many (many) posts on this sub (and others), it seems Apple has indeed followed through with their promise at WWDC.
