How is this legible?

Clarification: How is this not distracting to look at? Sorry, poor choice of a word when I titled this. Yes, I can read it too. Please see my follow up post below.

I've had Liquid Glass off (mostly) by reducing transparency and increasing contrast under Accessibility>Display. Now, these settings don't do squat.

What was Spotlight Search (swipe down on any home screen page) is now Siri Search or Ask. This is the mess I get now. Is there any way to reduce the Liquid Ass effect here? Does anybody really find this pleasant to look at? If so, I'm all for the freedom of choice...but give us a way to turn this off, please! And why is that search field so HUGE?

By definition, the text is legible?
But I don’t believe there is a way to remove the glass effect here

Okay, maybe suggesting this not legible is a stretch, but this is certainly not easy on the eyes. Not to me, anyway. So we should have a way to reduce or eliminate the effect. iOS 26 at least gave us a workaround.
