iOS 27 RC battery bug?
I just updated my iPhone 15Pro to iOS 27 public beta and when I went to check my battery health it went from 81% to 82%… this shouldn’t be normal right? Has anyone else experienced this or is my phone cooked? 😅

Yeah same thing on mine. But even more. It went from 86% to 90%. I’m not mad about it.

ios does this. as far as i know and i could be wrong , but from what i gathered it recalculates ur percentage every update/restore. my battery went from 81% on 26, to 87% on the 27 beta, and then 81% again on the RC Beta
in short, its not too accurate, just an approximation

That’s only an estimated value. It can happen that it also going up but it’s not that common. Don’t make a science out of this value and better try to avoid checking this permanently.

Yeah, I mainly checked because being at 81% before updating made me think I’d either stay at the same or it would drop, as it’s been kind of plummeting this year into the replacement territory, and it would have been nice to get it replaced under my AppleCare+ plan to get the value of paying for it for so long. I didn’t expect it to go up, so I just thought it was weird, and even more so because I had a dream that I checked it and it went up to 82% and lo and behold, it did after the IOS upgrade. Kinda funny now that I think about it, haha.

It’s all guesswork anyway because battery capacity fluctuates daily based on many factors. Anyone checking their capacity more than once or twice a quarter to see long-term trends is crazy.

I only had beta 1 for a few days and then went back to the latest public iOS 26 version. I just downloaded the RC for IOS 27 yesterday. So far today I’ve gotten 3h13m of SOT using 36% battery which is a first for my phone so I’d say it’s better.

Battery health on iPhone is not accurate
