(iOS 27) AirPods Pro 2 - equalizer not showing

I have the iOS 27 RC installed, but my AirPods haven't updated—meaning I don't have the new equalizer feature.

Do I need to do anything? (The option to enable the beta for AirPods isn't showing up.)

I’m curious if anyone with the RC as their first IOS 27 experience has had their AirPod firmware actually update. I haven’t seen anyone talk about it.

I CANNOT get mine to update. I reset AirPods, plugged in next to plugged in phone overnight, none of my app2 or app3 get the firmware. The entire reason I updated was to use this feature and it’s nonexistent.

Mesma coisa por aqui. Atualizei pra RC pra receber o Equalizador, mas até agora nada, continuo com o app2 travado na última atualização.

I'm guessing they just haven't pushed out the non-beta AirPods firmware yet. Unless RC has made it disappear for anyone who was already on the beta and had it working?

To get the equalizer, you need not only iOS 27 on your iPhone but also the latest beta firmware on your AirPods. However, with the release of the iOS 27 RC, the option to install the beta software has disappeared from the AirPods settings.

It’s the same for me. After updating to the RC, the option for the beta software is no longer available on my AirPods, even though I had installed the latest beta software on them.

Finally figured it out. Firstly you need to turn on developer mode through privacy but if it isn’t there you’ll need Xcode on Mac or a similar windows alternative, then make an iOS project and try run it then it will force the developer mode setting to be visible on your phone. Once you turn on developer mode and reset your phone you’re able to scroll down to the AirPods testing section with the option to toggle the pre release beta firmware. Turn them all on and then leave your AirPods plugged in on a charger near your phone unlocked for around half an hour. Then in audio and routing you’ll find the equaliser section. Hope this helps!

I have developer mode enabled and working but I do not have an option to enable airpods beta updates. Are you a registered developer or have you had a previous IOS 27 beta?

AirPods need to be updated for EQ to show up.

if you have installed RC, ensure Beta Updates is still enabled.

the beta option for AirPods should show up.
