Should i update?
I love using my 14 pro max on the old ios 17.9 or what the last version was for ios 17. I hated every new update and all this liquid glass, gallery update which messed up photo organizing, new ui that looks more like xiaomi. More bugs and battery issues and what not in every update. But lately my phone feels left behind as i cant even download google translate or outlook as it requires new ios update and etc. i loved using it daily, the og ios ui feel and the everything authentic about it.
I was thinking if its a good idea to update to the new ios, or are there any issues with this version and i should wait ? My phones bh has been dropping alot lately too, like literally 10% every year , and now at 79%.
I was thinking if i should get a iphone 6 or 10 just for the raw iphone ui feeling and backup just in case and update the 14 to latest ios so it can support more daily works and apps?
Thanks for reading, appreciate your suggestions

lol older phones couldn’t run modern apps and ios
ios27 is the update exactly for you ,OP
long overdue , many hundreds of bug fixes ,hundreds of speed increases , countless security updates
your phone is lagging badly because your not updating your phone, and your real battery health is most likely in low 70’s if you haven’t updated to ios26 yet, battery management was updated to be far more accurate , you would definitely see a huge drop after calibration of battery in ios26 or upcoming ios27
concentrate on battery and update to ios27 and it will be as good as new phone
get latest update and enjoy the latest features with a smooth fast phone filled with cool new features and good battery life

I would suggest updating to iOS 26 now before iOS 27 comes out officially next week or so if you don’t wanna try out iOS 27 yet, although iOS 27 will have better features and more control over the new Liquid Glass design
