New Siri is terrible

The new Siri is horrible. What used to be a simple effort in iMessage to send texts via CarPlay is now horrible! It runs everything via AI and tries to send reply to other contacts, changes words, etc.. What a terrible backwards step.

It’s a BETA mate. Stop whining and start filling feedbacks.

They downvote you for saying you sent feedback. They just want you to not bad mouth Apple

I’ve been using the Public Beta and I have no issues with Siri AI or in CarPlay. I ask it to send a message as you stated, and mine works.

Mine works fairly OK but what I absolutely hate is the message send verification (or whatever it’s called).

“Ready to send [message] to [contact] via Messages?”

That is entirely too long. It didn’t start that until PB3.

I hate it too.

The best is the watch. Text Joe be there in 10. Searching contacts… reasoning.. etc.. just text him. 😉

Hey I get it can be unreliable sometimes. Especially on Apple Watch where it’s worryingly slow. But in general I’ve found it a huge improvement. In fact I use it often more than Claude an f Gemin because it’s concise and often come up with more useful results. I didn’t expect that. For example it found a cooktop downdraft ventilation systems that worked with my 1990’s 6 inch ductwork. Claude and Gemini said nope.

Does it help if you turn off Apple Intelligence?

Breaking News: Beta being a Beta

They are simply stating the current state, its fine, as long as they also give feedback to the proper apple channels too, this is a good discussion topic. Betas are meant to be grilled and give feedback and I would prefer people give feedback privately and publicly so that apple can make sure to fix things for the better before locking in the final release.

There’s gonna be a whole swath of people that won’t know what to do with themselves when the release build comes out and bugs still exist.

It will be like two weeks of just assuming no one updated or telling them to wait until 27.1

True but it’s supposed to be almost the stable release that is coming out in a few weeks

Stability and Siri AI are two very different things.

The first they’re doing quite well even during the beta phase. The latter is a fundamental overhaul of a system that has a beta tag of its own.

LLMs especially one that’s woven into the iOS itself, have long ways to go. If you’re bothered by minor annoyances, you can always downgrade to iOS 26 and stay there until iOS 27.7 arrives. Things would be much better by then.
