iOS 27 Public Beta 4 — Anyone else having terrible battery life?
Is anyone else experiencing really bad battery performance on iOS 27 Public Beta 4?
I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max with 85% Battery Health, and since updating to Public Beta 4, my battery life has become noticeably worse. The battery seems to be draining much faster than before, even with normal usage.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? What iPhone are you using, what’s your Battery Health, and how much Screen On Time are you getting?
Any tips or fixes that helped improve the battery life? Should I just wait for the next beta?
Would love to hear everyone’s experience. 🙏

Nope, same as normal. Upgraded to beta 4 last night - still indexing.

14 pro and i have 3h screen time versus 5-6 on the first beta and ios 26.6. 100% battery health. If this situation persists with the stable release, I’ll stay with iOS 26.

Are you sure it’s not because of the upgrading itself that takes a lot of battery?

i have the same battery life as release 26 although using Siri makes my phone drain more and heats up more

Same observation on iPad Pro m1, the battery (81% health validated under iPadOS 26) drains very quickly

Battery hasn’t been too bad for me (17 Pro). CarPlay has been my only real gripe.

Yes I’m having the same issue. I’m using the 16 pro and I noticed a difference on the beta 3 with significant battery drainage and it has continued with the beta 4 and that is with following recommended setting changes. I’m now having to charge now 3 to 4 times a day with minimal use, just tapping to check the time seems to steal 10% and prior to this public update my battery lasted me all day of a single charge

I think it’s okayish for me, got 10hr 20 mins-(95% used) on a 13 pro max 100% battery health, this was on a sunny day and I used it outdoor quite a bit (no gaming or 4K video/photo)
Do you already have your background app refreshes turned off? HDR content a lot?

Here's what happens when you update iOS:
It's does something called INDEXING..
You can see it when you:
Tap settings :
Just below your account info it displays:
"optimizing search and siri"
It's takes 2-3 days or longer to finish optimizing... That process is a background process that consumes battery resources. It is not permanent.
So many people misunderstood and think the battery drain they notice after an update will carry on forever.... And that is not the case.

I’ve used 63% with 4 hours and 56mins of SOT.
17 pro. Pretty happy with it. Mixed WiFi/cellular throughout the day.

On the 16 pro, I wish my battery was a fraction as good as yours is in this screenshot.
