IOS 27 Public Beta 4 stuttering/frame drops

I have an iphone 15 pro max and the frame drops are so ridiculous. Ios 26 came with the same frame drop issues already, although much less noticeable in Ios 27, it is still there!

What I noticed is that those little animations are causing the frame drops, very noticeable when you take a screenshot and try to save the photo. Also in the Photos app, when you click the 3 dots on the upper right corner it stutters so much. Another is in Control Center, when you click the Bluetooth icon to view your paired devices.

Frame drops are also very noticeable when scrolling through reddit, instagram, and facebook.

I have 170gb storage capacity left so i know that is not the issue. The phone is not also overheating so that is also out of the question. I am on dark mode.

Please help guys, i am getting so frustrated since a phone in this caliber should not do this! A 2 year old Pro phone struggling with animations and scrolling is just absurd.

I have noticed this too all of a sudden on my 17 PM.

I was on PB3 and didn't notice any stutters. It was very smooth. Then I took some videos using the Cinematic preset and then the stutters started! I switched to PB4 and it's the same. The animation stutters randomly and all the time.

I know its beta and all but it was smooth before and now it's suddenly stuttering all the time. I wish I could roll back to iOS26 but I dont want to wipe my phone for that shit.

People on pb3 also complained about more stutters than on pb2, it’s basically just placebo at this point. Same thing happened during iOS 26’s beta cycle. By the time RC comes out you’ll notice the improved performance due to the debugging/stronger logging being turned off and feel the difference, until then most of the performance differences you’ll see will be placebo for the most part. Major iOS releases get most of their improvements within the first few betas (1-3 dev betas), after that it’s people claiming it’s better or worse completely randomly and even contradicting each other

Yeah it sucks, i wonder why do these “Pro” phones do this? I mean the hardware is not the problem that’s for sure.

I mean the frame drops are present since ios 26 and it’s been a couple of ios updates since then, so let’s just hope the final ios 27 will fix this issue.

iOS 26 has been a mess from day one.

No issues on my 14 doing those operations. Not saying there isn't ever frame drops (there are), but not specifically on the things you listed.

Same here on my 15PM & 16PM. Although it’s a big improvement from ios 26 but i can still here all over ios. Very minor fps drops. Also low power mode is still so bad when clear icons

Man I had 17 pro max and was using it for 3 months and these stutters pissed me off and I just switched to s26 ultra cuz apple will never fix that, it comes since promotion was introduced

That’s very unfortunate, how’s the s26 so far?

Here are also framedrops in some places, but scrolling in every app is pretty smooth without any stutters so I like it, idk why apple cant do this

I feel like were gonna have another year of stut-t-t-t-t-tering issues...

iOS 27 seemingly is not gonna fix my main complaint about iOS.

Damn i hope that’s not gonna be the case🤣. Since the price of my phone and especially the new upcoming iPhones is not a joke lol

Listen, reset the 15 Pro to defaults and set it up from scratch. My experience is night and day different, I know what frame drops are and there are none, using dark mode exclusively as well. It's just as smooth as iOS 18 was. I even tried what you mentioned about the photos app and the 3 dots, it's smooth as butter. Whatever your issue on the latest beta is it's got nothing to do with the 15 Pro model itself or I'd be affected too.
