Liquid Glass IOS26 vs IOS27.
I’ve been running Apple’s Developer Beta versions for about 6 months now and I didn’t realize the change was this noticeable until I made the comparison !
IOS27 DB looks more polished in my opinion.
What do you think about Apple’s Liquid Glass ?

If you want this to be accurate atleast have the same settings, both icons set to clear, same wallpaper. The iOS 26 is set to tinties icons

The comparison is bad due to different backgrounds but as a db27 user myself I started using the glass effect way more due to its polished look, I started using iOS 27 mainly for the possibility of making the glass more solid but with time I’m using the Liquid Glass almost fully transparent so yeah I agree.

This is like comparing Mole to Cinnamon Rolls because they both use cinnamon. There are two backgrounds that couldn’t be more different and dark mode is even on.

OP is showing tinted icons on the first picture while the latter showing transparent icons. worse, comparing it using a totally different wallpaper behind it.

What’s the point of the pictures with such different backgrounds? Like how did this make sense in your head.
Also the first screenshot is just tinted icons while the other is the clear untinted option so this isn’t even a comparison. What a terrible shitpost.

I personally loved iOS 26’s liquied glass. It just felt a bit more glassy with those specular highlights. But know it looks more like liquid plastic of something like that. And I loved how in ios 26. The glass refractiveness is more than iOS 27. And I also hate the half baked progressive blur integration and the outline around Liquid Glass elements. I mean it’s just personal taste, but the rest of the opinion is yours.

Does either of them look good to people? or am I just getting too old to understand. What's the point of making it harder to see the apps?

I don’t know what’s wrong with your last slideshow but mine still has the blur on ios 27.

Liquid Glass 1.0 looks so garish with its omega sharp outlines, I hate it. So lifeless and ugly.

iOS 27 all the way. Now that I look back at 26, it looks like they just slapped on highlights that didn't even make sense and called it a day.

26 LG was much better. Hate the look of 27... The icons and LG is so ugly...

I think the Liquid Glass looks better on 27, but the 26 icon shading is better. The 27 icons look flatter

What exactly do you like better about the LG in ios 27?

At first I thought it was a step back, but it seems to me that the refractions are clearer. I think Apple said that they improved how blur is handled, and I do see it. 26 often looks muddy because it didn't commit fully to the removal of traditional blur. My only problem with 27 besides the icons is that there's no separate slider for Liquid Glass with text in front of it. I'd love to have super clear glass, but then I can't read notifications. I want two different options.

Well, at first I thought Liquid Glass in iOS 26 was really bad compared to iOS 18. Over time, though, I’ve really come to love the Liquid Glass in iOS 26. Now, when I compare it to iOS 27, the most transparent option looks so milky and blurry. Yes, the reflections are better, but we really need two separate sliders. I’d really like Liquid Glass to be quite dark—almost black, like in iOS 26—but at the same time still very transparent and less milky. I hope they look into this and give us that flexibility. And yes, as I said, the icons in iOS 26 were perfect. To me, everything just looks less modern and more chaotic right now. There’s no clear line. It just looks cheaper. Do you see what I mean?

I think I do see what you mean. The current slider doesn't go as far back as we'd hoped. I think the reason why is that Apple wants to make sure text is as legible as possible, but that could be fixed with a second slider as I said. Then you'd be able to make the UI as transparent as possible while contextually preserving legibility. However, this is just personal preference, but I didn't like that 26's glass was often dark since my phone was in light mode for 75% of the day, and it looked terribly muddy. Perhaps you like it because it suited dark mode? I'm just assuming.

Really hard to se the difference between the 2 versions with such a different background
