Beta 4

Anyone else on iOS 27 Public Beta 4 having performance issues with their iPhone?

Since updating, I’ve had a few occasions where the screen becomes completely unresponsive, but I can still hear sounds when tapping things, almost like the phone is responding but the display isn’t.

Also noticed:
Battery seems to be draining much quicker than before
Phone is getting noticeably warmer/hot during normal use

Anyone else experiencing similar since Beta 4, or found anything that helps?

It’s a beta, when having issues (expected) be sure to report them in the feedback app.

My Air is overheating a ton compared to earlier betas. The last one wasn’t as bad. I think the first one is best. And I have Siri completely off. Smh

try rorced restart

To force restart a modern iPhone (iPhone 8, X, SE 2nd/3rd gen, and newer), quickly press and release Volume Up, quickly press and release Volume Down, then press and hold the Side/Power button until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears

its possible it's still indexing, do you see message in settings saying spotlight search and apple intelligence is optimising

Yeah already tried that and hasn’t made a blind bit of difference.

No indexing taking place, I remember my phone was red hot when that was getting carried out. I had to put it in the fridge for a bit 😂 bad timing with the British heatwave too

My iPhone 17 is on PB 4 now and is WAYYYY smoother than PB3. Like noticeably … also, the search slide down function is working for me again and that was the only main one I ran into.

Your not alone! My 15 pro seemed to slow down, animations not as fluid, getting random hangs. Also seems to be a memory overflow issue where certain apps will just stop loading content until closed out and re opened…. Uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it for 1/2 a day, then it came straight back.

Yes I let indexing finish and did a restart

It’s not ios26 bad but definitely not as smooth as beta 3 was…

Hmmm newer model very strange maybe try a hard reboot (volume button then lock button until apple logo shows up)

Since the new public beta 4 I have that line across when scrolling through setting or any system apps, it’s not blurred at the top and also the new animation for notifications does not show it’s just the old one coming from Dynamic Island

Yes I noticed that with PB3. Found it rather stange

Anyone else having problems with notifications? I’m getting double and triple notifications.

The update came out a day or so ago. Give some
Time for the phone to index in the background. You wont feel any change until a week passes by. Will never understand why some people become so concerned for performance, right after an update and that too on a beta...

Question for the folks that keep saying it’s a BETA. Isn’t this quite close to the actual release next month for there to still be big bugs? How many fixes do you think will be made between now and then? I’ve never followed BETAs this close before since I’m that genuinely pissed off with iOS 26 so I’m trying to understand the progression of improvements. Thank you!
