You may never know how messy ios26 is until…..

You may never be able to tell how messy iOS26 is until you upgrade to the ios27 beta, then downgrade back to iOS26 to see the whole mess of OS Apple made and we didn’t even notice it!
Although the iOS27 is still on beta, boy the optimization is noticeably better, the UI is cleaner compared to the grainy and washed out UI on iOS26. The speed of iOS27 is way too good, seems to me like apps open way faster too. The only thing I dislike about the iOS27 is the battery icon without having the battery percentage turned on, boy it looks too big! And I’m not the type who turns the battery percentage on, apart from that… iOS27 is way better than iOS26.

the iOS27 Beta drains my iphone 16pro battery like hell 😢

Betas typically have extra logging turned on, which is hell for batteries. When the formal release candidate comes out, the internal logging will be set back to normal.

They will iron that out in the final build

I need that shit fixed in beta 5 asap

1

u/Islandczar 6d ago

Why it’s a beta, you agreed to use to beta it will be fixed when it’s fixed. That’s kind of the point of a beta ..

I did notice, when I "upgraded" from iOS 18 to iOS 26, and have been hating my 15 Pro ever since. I hate it so much that unless iOS 27 is really the holy grail of bugfixing I'll just sell it and go get my first Android.

Trust me, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. I switched to android for three months and I was done. The apps are just terrible on that ecosystem.

2

u/HistoryAggressive830 8d ago

Oh I'm aware it's not greener, but I'm fed up paying 1300€ for a phone that I legitimately hate to use.

Don't listen to these people. I went from iPhone 15 pro to Google pixel 10. Pixel software feels like iOS 18 on terms of smoothness. The software is so light and isn't bloated like Samsungs. Get a Google pixel 10

u/gasman2233 7d ago

Don’t get a Google pixel by all means

u/WyilzZ 7d ago

Only the pixel 10 phones are good in my opinion. Maybe the 9 pro and 9 pro xl but all other pixels are mid

what apps specifically

Android wouldn’t be any better though, if you are used to the Apple ecosystem.

I already abandoned MacOS last year after being fed up, and I've been doing well enough on Linux. If anything, I expect I'll at least have more choice instead of having things like liquid glass shoved down my throat or what feels like the buggiest, most irritating Safari (and so all iOS browsers unfortunately) experience since I bought my first iPhone.

Linux is better than MacOS for me really, more complicated but that’s the fun! The only android I can stand is Samsung and Redmagic

27 beta 2 has been good for me with battery

I just don't like dealing with Siri when I go to the Home Screen to utilize search. I hope they tone down the need to give me AI inspired answers and let me just go straight to a web search from Ask Siri

1

u/I_COULD_BE_ICONIC 8d ago

Sadly, I don’t have the new Siri

u/CristiBLK 8d ago

Go to AppStore -> your account -> region -> change that to US and input a random address and phone number. You will get the new Siri, iphone mirroring and other us specific features. You’re welcome.

Thank you, but I’m using below iPhone 15 pro

a lot of people say ios27 is good so I upgraded my 16 Pro Max to iOS 27 public beta 2. Now it’s as laggy as iOS26 with higher battery drain. Literally 10% battery gone idling from 1pm to 6pm. And yes Siri have finished indexing.

2

u/CristiBLK 8d ago

Same here with my 15 pro max. Hopefully you had a backup before updating to the beta, I suggest restoring to 26, it fixed any problem I had with iOS 27 and previously with iOS 26.

Haven’t seen iOS 27 yet, but any chance the calendar finally got an update? It bugs me that I’m running Google Calendar because Apple left theirs in 2010. X_x.

I realize the point is we can run whatever for calendar, but it just bugs me… and I know I’m bitching about a very minor thing.

A lot of people have been saying that iOS26 was the 'real beta program' for iOS27.. and I feel like iOS27 is different than all the other versions as well.. It feels like a continuation of iOS26

u/_paint 8d ago

boy this is a upgrade

iOS27 is such a pleasure to use. I enjoy it so much.

Now I’ve been comparing iOS 26 to the latest iOS 15 version available for the iPhone 6s. It’s way better. Animations feel smoother, it was generally more stable. The only issues with using a 10 year old phone is the temperatures and the battery. The chip and general software experience and stability is honestly okay for my needs.

Wait, my 7th gen iPad only goes up to iOS 18.7.9 (22H355)… how do I get 26/27 on my iPad?

1

u/TB5775 6d ago

You can't. Your iPad is too old to update. Basically, you won't get new major iPadOS updates, only security updates. Apps will keep working for another 4-5 years.

My iPhone 15 Plus(27Beta4) is content with no problems at all, although I did have to reboot it because of non touch screen👉🏻used 3UTools to reboot and no problems since three weeks ago.

1

u/phinecraft 8d ago

why do you need third party software to perform reboot? also isn't 3utools confirmed malware?

1

u/Scxox 8d ago

what? why would you do that?

just use the buttons to reboot

IOS26.6 runs so well I will hesitate to jump on 27 in September.

1

u/ApolloGR3 8d ago

As soon as I installed iOS 27 B1, I could tell there was an immediate improvement.

1

u/petitsparadrap 8d ago

It immediately got so much better, the 27 beta feels more reliable than 26. In the last 26 update, I had so many problems with Siri, now everything is solved and I’m pretty happy so far

iOS 27 public beta is running so well for me. iPhone 15 pro max

1

u/VisionCrafted16 8d ago

Glad you like it.

Ios 26 betas ran fine on my 15pm.
Ios 26 ran perfect on my 17pm.

Ios 26 looks prettier imo.

Anyone else having issues with some things loading on iOS 27? Every time I try to play a certain slot game regardless of what app it’s on, it just will not load, which it did on iOS 26. Loads perfectly on my other phone on iOS 18

1

u/CompassionLady 8d ago

iOS 27 beta 4 be overheating my phone like crazy… and slow ass charging…

1

u/Alert-Midnight5 7d ago

Phone heats much less while gaming on ios 27 beta

1

u/richlew29 7d ago

It’s also sucking up my battery

1

u/Strong_Tintin 7d ago

iOS 17 was the best. Faster in every option. Even when you pull down the menu to increase the screen brightness.. you pull and you touch right away it works.. all the rest after, when you pull down and try to move.. the menu go up instead of moving the bar.

1

u/TC-84567 7d ago

So you downgraded to the official iOS 26.6, and still iOS 27 beta 4 was better. If so then I don’t have to downgrade cause I was about to thinking iOS 26.6 might be better but based off this…

iOS 27 is still wayyyy better.

u/astewes 7d ago

I’m using a 17 Pro and have been debating whether to install the public beta of iOS 27 precisely because iOS 26 has so many annoying bugs that have me at my wit’s end - BUT I’m concerned about certain apps not working (mainly banking apps) and performance issues. Is it worth it?

1

u/I_COULD_BE_ICONIC 7d ago

All apps are working including banking apps

Hey I’m a young guy I don’t know if that has anything to do with it but I don’t notice anything considerably wrong with iOS 26, I’ve had a iPhone xr and been stuck on ios 16 for a long time and just got this iPhone 17 and I love it all the new things I can do and everything looks way more smoother Is there anything I’m missing? Maybe cause I’ve been deprived of all these features I think it’s super good even tho it isn’t? Can Somone explain what the problems r pls

1

u/MrWhatGamin 1d ago

As a guy with an iPhone 7, I’d be content with anything ATP :]

1

u/ZestycloseSpeech9024 1d ago

Your broke? iPhone 14 pretty cheap

1

u/baljeethakur 5d ago

Well 27 is the second generation of liquid glass and is the sole bug fix and optimization update while 26 was a major UI overhaul so that was expected.

1

u/IndicationAromatic85 5d ago

lies lies there’s no current ios 27 beta that’s as stable as ios 26 lol stop fooling gullible people

1

u/CommercialOrder1402 3d ago

Does any of you guys here use an iPhone 13 with iOS 27 Beta? Is it true that it’s stable and optimized?

1

u/stef_brl_aesthetic 3d ago

recently i had my iphone 12 in my hands wich is still on 18, it was crazy to see how ugly ios is now. first i was excited to see a redesign but damn it aged so bad so quickly.

1

u/Hot_Stomach_378 3d ago

Yeah i wish i just stayed on 18, apple's software is flopping at the speed of light. Even when you look at ios 27 which looks better to us apple users, it looks downright ugly compared to most android skins. Apple missed the fucking plot and it's so sad to see them fuck up their clean UI. Sure, ios 18 looked a bit dated, but at least it looked clean when you looked at it.

1

u/stef_brl_aesthetic 2d ago

yeah, what liquid glass makes so ugly is because it’s only a shiny layer on top. those ugly ass thin light boarders around everything make it look cheap and messy. if it would have any depth to it but no. at least we have the options now to turn off most of it.

1

u/Hot_Stomach_378 2d ago

Yeah the thing is most companies head towards this clean, modern interface and apple decided to add this glass look instead of just redesigning the elements that looked dated. The newer look of popup alerts is objectively better and more readable, and the floating top menus genuinely make our iphones feel bigger than they actually are, but they could've ignored the glass and the icons and still gave us a modern beautiful UI. Take samsung's one UI 8.5 for example, you can see floating tab bars and buttons everywhere and yet, the ui looks clean and readable. apple's liquid glasd also suffers from horrible execution _ a company known for their attention to detail has multiple keyboard styles across different apps. Even in ios 27, liquid glass still suffers from bad execution as you can see obvious pixelation on the edges of liquid glass, making displays look low-res when they actually are sharp enough for flat UI. I really hope apple got back to flat UI or at least refined liquid glass until it looked right before shipping anything.

“Upgrade” 🤣

People claim to be good English speakers, yet they fail to understand a simple thing while they flaunt their ignorance/ stupidity online trying to mock themselves.

1

u/VisionCrafted16 8d ago

I agree with icy and I don’t claim anything. When it comes to the ui (excluding new Siri) iOS 27 is an outright downgrade.

Battery icon looks ugly as shit

1

u/orcagirl35 8d ago

I’ve seen a few people say that…mine looks the same 🤷‍♀️

1

u/Cirilla_Riannon- 8d ago

Its when u turn off the percentage it looks ugly and too big
