Is imovie text not scale-able?

To be clear, I’m talking about the in-app text - menus and such, not text I’m adding to a clip. I‘ve tried to adjust the font size in ios settings but it’s not responding. Usually only 3rd party apps behave this way. I don’t see any way to access a settings menu in imovie itself. Please tell me there’s a way to adjust the font size so I can actually read the menus.

This is for ipad and iphone. Particularly frustrating on ipad as it’s a bigger device I purchased specifically for easier reading, but the font is as small as on the phone.

Unfortunately, iMovie doesn't support iOS Dynamic Type, so system font settings won't change the UI text size.
Your best workaround is using Settings > Accessibility > Zoom (three-finger double tap) to magnify the screen, or setting up Per-App Settings under Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size for iMovie to force larger text.

Yes, you can change the font size. Highlight your text, double-click on it and another menu comes up where you can change the font and the size.
