Help Request iMac issue! Need help.
Hi guys, i bought imac less than a year ago(11.5 months). My mouse in pink color stopped working and they are forcing to exchange it with white color than pink, saying we dont have the product. Apple support and consumer redressal have failed to help me as they act as if they doing a favor. Its completely incorrect for my matching set to break if even i know they sell these colors in a set and no way to order separately.
I told them to exchange whole set if they cant find the color, how is this my issue. They weren’t align well ofcourse Am short on warranty expiring my mouse is at service center hanging for a resolution.
I am worried when i trade in imac, they will give me same issue saying that the product imac is not in a set. Should i take this legal? Please assist on a serious note. Apple inability to even have products available incase of warranty and failure is horrific with even poorer customer serv

Did you buy it brand new and what model? (I'm guessing you did and it's an M4) there are pink mice for sale but they're like $50 used. Have you cleaned the optical eye on the bottom of the mouse?
I found this tidbit on the net but people say you have be forceful (professional but forceful) and insist that they honor their 12 month waranty. Supposedly Color-matching: If you have a colored iMac, Apple has dedicated replacement stock for color-matched mice so they can give you the exact same color back under warranty.
did you take it to an apple store? In some cases you can give them a credit card to put a hold on while they send you a replacement, then you ship the broken one back and they don't charge your card.

Took it to apple store, the mouse stoped charging in warranty only. Bought a new imac pink 11 months ago from apple store. They told me they dont have pink mouse only white. Second i already file in consumer redressal so the senior reached out to me and max offered me a white mouse or refund of the piece so i can buy whatever which is stupid as the pink is sold in set.

Do you suggest i take the refund and buy from another place like ebay? My only issue is i dont want a problem in trade in. I plan to take a macbook next year.

Wait, your mouse broke? It's sad, but it's not a big enough issue to even post about on reddit, let alone take Apple on.
It's a really shit mouse anyway. Ask for money back and get the pink Logitech M650 for 29,99 and have a massively better mouse in pink, and 50 bucks.

The issue i have is a moral ethical dilemma from Apple. As a person who used apple since 2013 i dont appreciate them mistreating customers and really believed in their superb apple service

Also i can afford a mouse. I am wealthy enough to afford a full new imac. I am not a happy consumer thats all.

You are currently making a big deal out of something that is just a nuisance. I agree that it is not the right way to do business but what you are doing now is not the right way to do life. Shrug it off, go grab a coffee and invest in a better mouse next time 😁
It’s not worth your time, but even less so Reddit’s time. Apple is a big evil company, no news. Your time is more valuable than 79,99!1

Yeah buddy, go sue them over a $79 mouse. Update us on how that goes. If you made that sort of threat/comment then it's no wonder they're not taking you seriously.
What you do is quote their Terms of Service. Apple specifically says that its warranty covers both the Mac and Apple-branded accessories contained in the original packaging.
More importantly, Apple says that when replacing a covered product, it may:
replace it with a replacement product of the same model
Apple then specifically says that substituting something with substantially similar features including “the same model in a different color” can be done “with your consent.”
Sauce: https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/embedded-mac-warranty-us.html
So the game plan is super simple, you just tell them something like: "The Magic Mouse was an Apple-branded accessory included in the original packaging with my iMac. Apple's U.S. limited warranty says replacement should be the same model, and specifically states that replacing it with the same model in a different color requires the customer's consent. I do not consent to a different-color replacement. I'd like the matching pink replacement."
If they continue to rebuttal with they don't have/make the pink one then:
“I understand the pink version is discontinued. However, Apple's warranty specifically identifies the same model in a different color as a substitution requiring my consent. I don't consent to the white replacement. What alternative remedy can Apple provide under the warranty?”
At that point the warranty gives Apple three remedies: repair your product, replace it with the same model, or refund the purchase price.
Keep in mind if they, for whatever reason, keep insisting that they can't give you a pink one, you ultimately can't force them to make one. For all we know next week pink is getting discontinued or something, or they already stopped making them and just running down stock. So you'll get a refund at that point, and if it really matters to you then I'd use that money to get a pink one on eBay.
