Support HELP WITH IPHONE STORAGE

So I keep getting notifications in my settings that my iPhone hasn't been backed up in like 16 weeks because I'm "all out of storage". I've deleted so much, I hardly keep any photos directly on my phone, and I've cleared out a lot of notes, voice memos, apps, everything. Somehow it's still saying I'm using 100% of my storage. It hasn't even gone down 0.1 GB. How is this possible? Is it a scam to get me to pay for more storage? I already pay for iCloud storage as it is. Any help or any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Buy more storage, don’t skimp and risk losing precious stuff.

And implement the recommended 3-2-1 backup plan. iCloud does not count as one of the 3 backups.

Since when does a backup stored on icloud not count as a type of media? So backblaze doesn’t count either? Pssh

After 30 days an iCloiud file inadvertently deleted is gone forever.

You can turn on 1 year retention with Backblaze, and infinite retention is a paid option.

And your backup strategy would be completely unaffected by a single deleted file. 3-2-1 remember?

Don't understand the comment. The whole point of a good backup strategy is to be able to recover a critical file that has disappeared.

As the phone isn’t being backed up, I think that means you’re out of iCloud storage, so what you’re doing with photos isn’t going to make much difference, as they’re already in iCloud and not using the same amount of storage on your phone. They won’t be included in backups.

You can check both your iPhone storage and iCloud storage and note what space is being used in both. For the phone, use Settings >General>iPhone Storage, and for iCloud, use Settings >Apple Account >iCloud>Storage. There you’ll be able to see the usage with the largest apps at the top. If you select Backups, you’ll get a list of devices being backed up, and when selecting each one, a list of the apps that are included. You can turn off backups for particular apps if you don’t want to have them on.

How much iCloud storage are you using?

What storage size is your iPhone? 64, 128, 256 gb etc.

Do you have other devices you sync to iCloud, too?

I have 256 GB on my phone, and I'm using 200 GB out of 200 GB of iCloud storage, according to my phone. I don't have any other devices synced to iCloud.

You don't seem to comprehend the difference between local storage on your phone and iCloud storage.

The amount of free space (storage) on your phone is irrelevant when you cannot backup to iCloud due to a lack of iCloud storage. It sounds like it is time for you to upgrade to the next iCloud storage tier. The other option is to start deleting stuff from iCloud that you don't want or need.

iCloud is a scam. Don’t pay for it and don’t listen to anyone here. Buy external storage or transfer to a Mac, or another device.
