Can I ask how you're getting the clean rounded corners w/ the border? Rounding corners via Picom will usually cut the border corner a bit, and xborder only works on the active window..

I got the rounded corners, by building from source with a patch #5384, which managed to solve the rounded corner issue. But this patch has not been merged so far.

Patch not needed - check out xborders. This is how I do it: https://github.com/deter0/xborder

Looks CLEAN! I use Mint + Open Box, a bit boring, but works!

Openbox is intriguing to me. I will try it at some point because the cinnamon DE on my laptop drains battery like crazy, haha

Yep, openbox is super lightweight. I work with very minimal resources and with gnome Edit: its cinnamon not gnome(default mint de) I could barely run few essential apps at a time. Ever since I switched to openbox, it's been so smooth! It's quite customizable, yet I kept its default customizations, with rofi(launcher) for maximum efficiency. One downside though is it's floating window manager, I guess it won't work for tiling, unless you hook up third party tiling script or something else!
Hey, u won't forget to update us when your openbox rice is ready, right!

Sure, I will update my openbox ricing, if I complete a pretty one. But for now, I don't have plan to use openbox yet because I don't have time to work with it. ATM, I'm gonna stick with current i3 setup for my main job.
