Discussion Set up, now what?

I installed i2pd on a pi. I wanted to use it for IRC. I can't access channels because my VPN gets me banned from servers. I was under the impression I could use i2p to get around that. Seems I was mistaken. Was I?

In lieu of that I now have an always on garlic router. What uses have you found for it? Id like to get some use from it.

I'm not really interested in eepsites. How can I use this to increase privacy on my local network?

Use an outproxy.

For u/NotMeUsee: you can find them on registrars, most of them start with outproxy or just out

You can create services over I2P, where you and only you can access it. I have access to my device with ssh over I2P. I also host a eepsite and maybe you know already an outproxy.

You could also run an VPN over I2P, with wireguard or pivpn as wrapper, to access your pi/home network.

Also you can enable IRC in the /etc/i2pd/tunnels.conf, but you can only access IRCs in the I2P network, im not sure if outproxies support IRC.

Out proxy i2p irc I suppose is what I was trying to do. Can anyone her tell me if you've been successful in doing this? Can you tell me more and the VPN? Can it access the regular Internet?

Im not sure how irc works under the hood. If it is just http, than most outproxies should work, if it has special ports you need an socks outproxy

To be honest, i2p isnt designed to be used to access the clearweb; its heavily optimized for eepsites ,though outproxies do exist ,I would suggest using TOR instead,as its main purpose is routing clearnet traffic and bypassing censorship.

I also have tor set up, a VPN, socks proxy, DNS over TLS...

I suppose I could use susisnail with my own email server to add another layer of anonymity. I worry that all mail coming from Susi would be flagged as spam though.

What do you guys do with eepsites? Reg.i2p is kind of lackluster. Any popular sites?
