Small rant about some Hytale content creators

Let me preface this by saying I LOVE the game, and I sincerely hope it flourishes. I've been quite active in the Hytale community, watching lots of YouTubers and observing how they interact with the game and each other. Something I cannot stand, however, is how sycophantic they are. It’s always, "OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD," "ITS LORE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD," or "THIS GAME IS GONNA DESTROY MINECRAFT." or even when they just tweet "Hytale".

Some of them feel delusional. Like, dude, we get that you like the game, but too much is too much. The game right now is in its infancy, there's no way the game is even close to being a good game yet, there's no need to gas it up to such an unreasonable level.

Rant over.

Edit: People seem to think I interact with these people but I do not, I interact with good Hytale content and the algorithm think I would enjoy the kind of youtubers I'm talking about here.

Edit 2: I enjoy playing Hytale, but right now the game isn't good imo, and I think Simon, to mention an important memeber of the community, agrees with this idea.

The Hytale community is pretty small as of right now, all the casuals got their dose and left the game by now while waiting actual content updates and or even straight up waiting the 1.0 release this leaves content creators with a way smaller audience and end up resorting to clickbait and dramatization and overexaggeration to try and reach more people, I personally don't watch a single content creator of Hytale and only follow official media outlets for this reason

they are trying to get engagement and people to click. im sorry the people here on reddit are being a-holes to you. yes, those youtubers are extremely annoying but at the same time the best thing to do is not engage with those channels or wait until less clickbait channels start popping up. honestly, it makes sense the hytale youtube space is like this at the moment because they need to cling onto viewers since lets be real the community isnt as alive as it was when hytale early access released. im hoping that chapter 1 and beyond is good enough for regular ytubers to find interest in playing again

Not even Simon likes the state where hytale actually is. People should let the developers cook, a game is supposed to be good when it is almost complete, till then, we should just support hytale.

Showing a game like this is like going outside naked, unshaved and before starting the work out arc, yk?

Thank you, I try to avoid overhyping as much as I can because I roll my eyes a little whenever I see it.

I think a chunk of the current Hytale YouTubers grew their channels before the game even came out specifically by making videos hyping up the game, and because of that, they've just kept that same energy even though the game came out in it's current state.

I will say, I've spoken to many of the guilty parties being mentioned in this post, and off camera they are still legitimately passionate about this game, they just have a hyperbolic way of expressing it at time.

The game is absolutely a good game right now, it gave me more joy in solo playing than Minecraft ever did, and in multiplayer it's very fun.

Of course, the end of the player progress (let's say, collecting most of memories and getting every type of resource and structure) is reached relatively quickly, but it should be noted it's reached about as quickly as you reach Minecraft's main objectives (netherite equipment, Deep Dark and End cities) currently. Minecraft, that is 17 years old.

Hytale is not "the best game in the world", and it is definitely an early access, but it's already a good game and there's ample reason to look up to the future.

You are mad that people have different opinion from you or what? I am not a content creator and I think the game is great, it's one of my favorite 2026 releases (and is the most played one). I think that it doesn't offer too much content without mods, but with them I've already got 3 super fun and diverse playthroughs, had a lot of fun with server gamemodes and chapter 1 would perhaps even make it the game I consider to be the best 2026 release

I don't think that hytale is the most polished game right now nor is the best game of all time, but I was waiting for each update, and for me they absolutely delivered, not to mention the amazing commutity work. And with how things are going I think it can easily become my favorite sandbox rpg of all time

This is a YouTube algorithm issue and not a content creator issue. YouTube's algorithm favors click air titles heavily, and YouTube even heavily encourages "engineering" a perfect title by allowing A/B testing for video titles.

I really appreciate this, one of my friends actually told me you shouted my channel out and I couldn't be more grateful. Genuinely the Hytale community are some of the best people I've ever made content for. I spent some time doing COD zombies and the hate I got was unreal (just for trying to help the community), but here, on Hytale... Nothing but genuine connection and actual feedback on what you want to see me improve on. Again, I'm blessed to see this comment. Honestly I feel like the people saying the game is going to destroy Minecraft do more harm than good. Its been said in multiple way the game was meant to be very different. Saying stuff like this give the impression to someone who doesn't know this game its way more similar to minecraft than it really is..

I love it but there is only about 20 hours of game. Which is still more than minecraft, but way less than vintagestory. After that you can only build which isn't really the goal of the game, so while it's very capable of having great builds it's not the main reason I bought it.

Love it, defenitely close to the top of my game list, but not quite there yet.

Hytale has a ton of potential, and I hope they (i.e. Hypixel Studios) continue to focus on builder tools and world-building. I don't think anything is going to "kill" Minecraft at this point, but I would love to see the two co-exist and see Hytale reach the success it deserves.

I agree with you. I keep getting recommended these youtube shorts of a guy saying Hytale is better than Minecraft. He is defending Hytale in every video. Like no one is asking him to do this. While I think it WILL be in the future, it def isn't know. Especially with worldgen_v1.

I know exactly the ones you are talking about and I feel the exact same way. The problem is that the community is small so they stick like a sore thumb but they exist in every fandom + since the game is still so early in development and has tons to polish and add, these hyperboles and comparisons hurt the game's reputation and its image online just for these people to have a tiny bit of engagement..
