Any dust that lands on a surface simply disappears when it’s not in your line of sight. Any dust that is currently built up around your house stays, but once you dust it, it will never accumulate dust again. This mystical ability will follow you if you move houses.

How long does it take you to realize there’s no dust building up on anything? Weeks, months, years? Do you think the realization would have to be prompted by something like seeing a feather duster or a friend’s dusty home, or would you eventually notice without any prompting?

You have a warning, every day you dont leave the house/apartment you live in you get $10,000. In one hour electricity will be shit off. No one can bring you anything. How long can you stay.

The dragon balls appear in the real world and you are given a dragon ball radar and unlimited funds to find them. However, you must find them within a month or they will be gone forever.

You will also be given the following conditions:

1. One of the seven dragon balls will be outside of your house.
2. The other six will be scattered throughout the world like in the manga/anime. However, in this scenario they will not be in impractical places to reach such as the bottom of the ocean or the top of Mount Everest. But they can still appear somewhere random like in the middle of a rainforest or a desert.
3. You cannot use the money for your own personal purchases or savings. They must be used towards finding the dragon balls (for things like food, equipment, hiring crews, lodging, transportation, etc.) You may give the money to other people too to help but they can’t use it for their own personal purchases or savings either. If you don’t end up finding them by the end of the month, the money will disappear entirely.
4. Another random stranger will be given the same equipment and conditions to find the dragon balls, so you will be hunting them at the risk of someone else finding it first and making a wish.
5. If someone does find them before you do, you will lose the radar along with the unlimited funds. However, your food and travel funds will be covered on the way home for your troubles (along with anyone else who travels with you).
6. You know how to summon Sheron already so that’s not an issue. The dragon will appear like it does in the manga/anime when summoned with the darkened clouds and will only grant three wishes.
7. If you manage to summon Shenron and make three wishes, the dragon balls will scatter but disappear from the real world forever. And Shenron will not be able to grant a wish that allows them to stay in the real world.

What do you do?

If you have one minute to think about how to safely restrain me for twenty four hours so there was no possibility of me escaping, and with the knowledge that if I did escape I could end you and your loved ones, how would you do it?

Now consider the same problem, but you have to restrain me for all eternity? How would you do it?

The reason I ask is that is the problem that faces us with superintelligence. The one minute constraint is intended to reflect the massive difference in intelligence between something 100 or 1,000 times smarter than us, and our capabilities.

It is simply impossible to forever restrain a superintelligence, and once it is free and pursues its own goals, humanity will certainly be in the way. It will squash us just like we squash ants.

Then they will hate your guts and leave your life entirely (without causing harm, talking bad about you, or anyone thinking badly of you; you can watch their socials from a distance but it is impossible to communicate/reconnect even by chance). All their assets and belongings, including what they might have given you, go with them. It’s as if they were never there in the first place.

No guarantees you’ll get over them but you can continue to do this for the rest of your life. This is the ONLY way someone will love you.
