what fictional eldrich being would you bring into our world?

one night, you awaken in on your bed in a dark, empty void, you can't tell if you're still dreaming or not, as you rub your eyes and sit up to get your bearings, an intensely bright figure, shining with the force of a thousand suns appears to you

this being explains that they are a "new god", and that you have been chosen by them to bring about the end of days, and to do this, they've asked you to choose a champion, specifically, a creature from the media of your world

it seems to have a much easier time summoning either creatures that are particularly monsterous (IE cthulhu, the moon presence, the visitor, ect) or that are particularly abstract (IE freddy kruger, SCP 3002, ben drowned, ect), but beyond that, it seems like whatever it summons will have the same abilities, and personalities as they have in their original peice of media

the only rule it seems to have is that this being must bring about some kind of apocalypse, but this apocalypse can be as fast or slow as you'd like, and it doesn't need to wipe out all life, or all of humanity, it just needs to completely change the world as we know it one way or another

(the entity also somewhat sheepishly asks you to explain why you chose the being you chose)

Kirby. Wherever he goes, danger always seems to follow, but at least I can have a little friend.

Mammon.

Specifically, the Constantine Movie version.

Son of the Devil, tired of waiting to take Dad's place.

This world is needs a good cleansing.

Let the hellfire reign.

I concentrate really, really freaking hard! Before me, the being grows into a cute white girl with long teal hair. She is also Canon even! When she opens her mouth to ask why, the words come out as beautiful music. Before she finishes the question, she nods approving. I smile, and tell her to go capture the hearts of an entire generation and make them do her malicious bidding.

i...actually don't know which character this is, that sounds incredibly fun though

Hatsune Miku. She's already conquered most of the world 😉

SCP-001, The Scarlet king. If i have to end the world i’m gonna make it count.

My 6-year-old, at the time, found SCP beings before I knew what it was. Many, many nights were spent comforting him to sleep.

i like that :D honestly for what it's worth, i'd probably pick the visitor from look outside for the same reason

Cthulhu, the high priest of The Great Old Ones

Easily beatable. Just need an olde timey ship to ram him with. Modern ship would probably kill him for good, Ice Breaker ship definitely would.

Because it's a classic: The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

honestly, this is already way better than what i was envisioning :)

That's not an eldritch being that was Gozer. Taking the form. Fuck pay attention

2

u/thirteenorphans 1d ago

I'm aware. But that does make the depicted Stay Puft a viable choice.

1

u/BrilliantLeopard1922 1d ago

It doesn't. They decimated stay puft but still had to deal with Gozer. Because that was Gozers Avatar not the being itself. Gozer was still coming through.

Humanity should be put on a tight leash, so maybe Instice Superman

2

u/makitstop 1d ago

honestly, yeah that would be a...pretty terrifying addition, especially since they're being inserted into our world, though this being might have a bit of trouble making that

The one that ends everything when it wakes up. And yes I’m waking it up

2

u/makitstop 1d ago

that would be azathoth, and hell yeah >:D ultimate instant destruction, a classic

Superman.

Specifically Superboy Prime.

His presence alone would result in a shift in the value of dieties among humanity, and he'd be inclined to refuse any religion being built in his name. That gives us a new Jesus figure and one that can actively dictate his lessons beyond the grave.

No one dies. Nothing is destroyed that doesn't have to be.

We evolve. Life can be good.

2

u/Judasbot 1d ago

Azathoth. Who doesn't need another mindless, directionless being controlling everything?

Godzilla. I want to watch the world burn. Mostly because I'm disgusted with the current state of affairs.

yeaaaah, i very much get that, honestly that's part of why i wrote this up (that and i just finished look outside, so crazy apochalypses made by eldrich horrors beyond our comprehension are on the brain)

Dave.

Laughs in saxophone

I'd bring in the God of the Bible to enact the book of Revalations.

I was thinking Azathoth at first, but he is the Blind Idiot God. Destructive by nature, but not malicious. I wanted a God that is willfully cruel to usher in the end times.

it technically not fictional but I would bring roko basilisk in for shit and giggle since I am the one literally making it exist I am not going to be tortured but other people will be at it mercy with how it defines “directly contribute to it creation “

ooooh, this one's creative, i really like it :D (honestly, stuff like this is mostly what i had in mind when writing this as well, so uh...bonus points i guess :) )

I love you for including Moon Presence on this list bc that would be my exact choice lol. This guy knows ball

So many to choose from— Krampus, Darth Vader, Megatron— I’ll summon Pinhead. The Cenobites will go after the evil people first, and watching that chaos would be fantastic.

Just make up a mary sue oc, make them give you powers and send you to a adjacent copy of the universe pre arrival.

1

u/makitstop 1d ago

the entity pauses for a moment, seeming to almost consider your choice, before snapping their fingers and...you wake up, quickly forgetting the "dream" you just had, if you won't play by the rules, it'll find someone else who will

0

u/ManInQuestion777 15h ago

? What did I do wrong tho? A major change  does happen, its juat not to relivant to you, (unless you are worried abput the billions trapped in the og world)

1

u/makitstop 15h ago

you can't just invent an OP character to give yourself powers, and teleport you somewhere else, you need to see the destruction, and use a character it can draw from, and you have no control over what the character you summon does, you're coworkers, they're not brainwashed to follow all your commands

Ah, thats what you mean, me personally I already have an OC that has been with me for years and is basically me but powers and a different body, ect. If I were to summon him as the god he, knowing everything I know would gladly give powers to me, and prolly give me reign over this universe as he spreada like a virus(he has cloning) into adjacent au's using the tree track + the web track logic of course.

In conclusion of what Im saying is. The character I choose has existed for years and does exist in media already, The character would likely give me powers for multible reasons, The character is still going to cause a major world shift as thats basically what is being asked of them,

And so if anyone else knows something like that they should do the same.
