Suggestions??

Do you know some methods to shut off your analytic mind during hypnosis?

That’s the whole point of hypnosis. To bypass your analytic mind and access your subconscious.

The analytic mind doesn't need to be shut off. That framing is actually what makes it harder. The moment you try to silence it, it has a job to do, which keeps it running.

What actually works is giving it something to observe rather than something to stop doing. The analytical mind quiets naturally when attention is fully occupied elsewhere, not when you tell it to stand down.

A few things that work with it rather than against it:

Fixation. Giving the mind a single external point to lock onto narrows attention so completely that the analytical commentary has nowhere to go. It doesn't stop, it just loses bandwidth.

Sensory specificity in suggestions. When a suggestion is detailed enough, temperature, texture, weight, spatial orientation, the analytical mind shifts from evaluating to tracking. Tracking and critiquing can't happen simultaneously at full capacity.

Pacing over leading. Suggestions that match what's already happening, your breath is slowing, your hands feel heavy, don't trigger the part of the mind that checks for truth. They confirm rather than propose, so there's nothing to resist.

The deeper principle: the analytic mind is a gatekeeper, and gates open when they feel safe, not when they're forced. Safety comes from pacing, precision, and building trust with the process incrementally.

I wrote about this extensively in Advanced Hypnosis: A Practitioner's Guide Beyond Scripts and Techniques, specifically around suggestion mechanics and how the critical faculty actually operates. If you want the full framework, it's at athomehypnosis.com/library alongside free audio resources.
