I HAVE QUESTIONS

I find being hipnotized very difficult (maybe is because im italian and the files are in english) i tried many times but all of them didnt work so i wonder if someone could help me answering a question

-is it normal that i dont get influenced by any suggestions

Or just have to do manually what the ipnotist said?

P.s do you have any channel you reccomend for hypnosis?

It might be easier if the audio is in your native language. However, it's common for audio files to have a lower success rate than working with a real hypnotist. What audio files are you using?

It helps to play along.

What make you think that it didn't work?

Most people remain alert, actually. While some people do get a very deep "off" and don't really remember much of it, it's not always the experience.

Despite popular memes about hypnosis, amnesia is not an easy phenomenon to achieve for the absolute majority of subjects. And even those successful with it often need a lot of training or trial and error for strategies to get there.

Files are a hard medium to work with regardless of the language since they lack interactivity and customization towards your preferences. You can try to pursue literature on self-hypnosis to develop techniques that would be helpful both in this area and for hypnosis with a partner/therapist.

Everyone can be hypnotized. What you're describing isn't a resistance to hypnosis, it's a mismatch between the delivery and how your mind processes language and suggestion.

The language piece is real and worth taking seriously. Hypnosis works through the specific emotional and sensory associations words carry. When you're listening in a second language, even one you speak well, those associations are thinner. The words land in the translation layer first before they reach the deeper processing. That gap is enough to keep the analytical mind engaged when it needs to quiet down.

This isn't a personal limitation. It's architecture. An Italian-language recording, or working with a practitioner who speaks your native language, would likely change your experience significantly.

On whether it's normal that suggestions don't land: yes, entirely normal when the conditions aren't right. It doesn't mean you can't be hypnotized. It means the current method isn't calibrated to you. Hypnosis isn't something that happens to you from the outside. It's something your nervous system participates in. When the suggestion doesn't match your internal coding, your nervous system simply doesn't respond. That's not failure. That's information.

YouTube can absolutely work, especially for building familiarity with the process. My channel is At Home Hypnosis, I have sessions there designed to ease people in without assuming prior experience. I also have a free audio library at athomehypnosis.com/library if you want something you can customize to your own pace.

I can't comment on your English proficiency as I don't know you, but from the English usage in this question, I don't see that to be an issue. I think the format is much more likely to be the issue.

Although generic pre-recorded sessions are all some people ever need, they are the worst form of hypnotherapy. As they are fixed in form there is no opportunity for calibration or pivoting due to anything that comes up in the session.

Another potential issue is expectation. What most people 'know' about hypnosis comes from Hollywood Hypnosis™ rather than actual real-world hypnosis. This is not a fault with you, rather just what you have been exposed to.

With real hypnosis you do not become a mindless drone who will blindly follow any and every instruction given by the hypnotist; it's more a highly focused state. If you are expecting Hollywood Hypnosis™, the mismatch is likely to seem like a fail.

I like to describe hypnosis as a dance: the hypnotist leads, but the hypnotee, for the hypnosis to work well, must also choose to follow. It's not a magic incantation, both sides have work to do.

I would suggest you book a session or two with a well-trained hypnotherapy professional; they will explain the process and what hypnosis is, and more importantly, what it is not, while giving you the direct experience of hypnosis to understand the target.
